wait, she also did not sing "pager" in 2018 iHeartRadio live and 2019 (something) festival... she sang something like "taxing" like the 2nd T in "texting" was silent😭 but in 2020 The Butterfly Returns she sang "pager" again how come I never noticed it😭

I'm happy to see Mariah took her voice out of her throat and put it in her front resonators. She sounds stunning and a LOT better than during her last xmas concerts.

She now finally gave in to this technique. Maybe she has always been reluctant to do it coz she could be afraid that the new tone might not be appreciated. Now it's a little different but she can now access the "range" relax, with ease.

@@sap3373 actually it's the same technique as during the Daydream era. The only difference is that back then she was obviously younger, the voice not so dark as nowadays and she could do all sorts of vocal acrobatics. The real issue with Mariah is that she's never had a constant technique she would always rely on. She would just go with the flow. Now she was in desperate need of one as her voice simply wouldn't respond to her repertory anymore. Hopefully it's the beginning of a healthier era for her voice.

@@amiiiiiiiiiiiii "Shake It Off" was never #1. The #1 hits from Emancipation were "We Belong Together" and "Don't Forget About Us". "Shake It Off" made it to #2.

She uses the monitor to check which pre-recorded bits to lip to and to keep up with the new arrangements and know when the next song is gonna start etc…
