I watched the dubbed version, they cut that part by showing the audience but if you know about that part, you'd notice that Mariah has suddenly moved from her spot before the cut to a new place after the cut

I can''t believe how staggering the undubbed version is! What the hell was Sony thinking? The whole concert has some of the most startling vocals in pop history. Such a shame they dubbed it.

Sony actually back then did encourage her to perfect performances..encouraging her to dubb..it wasn't always her choice..she is a perfectionist but sony definitely controlled her concerts at this time

@@cloroxbleach1342 Please stop. How is she not in control of the dubbing process when she literally rerecorded the whole MSG concert in the studio and replaced the vocals? I'm not going to provide you with anything because people like you never believe anything anyway. She's not stopped dubbing after 1996... The Butterfly Tour released concert was dubbed in places. The 1999 Pavarotti concert was dubbed too. The You and I cover she did in 2003 was dubbed as well. There are two versions on KZread available - dubbed and undubbed so there's solid proof. She dubbed her whistles on GMA in 2013. American Idol was dubbed. The AIWFCIY with Michael Bublé was dubbed... These are just off the top of my head. Her most recent televised performances were live award shows, the New Year's Eve or the iHeartRadio festival all of which aired live so of course she couldn't have dubbed them lol. Whenever she prerecords anything tho, she corrects the pitch or replaces some bad notes before it's aired. But I don't know why I'm even bothering. You are not going to believe this anyway are you?

@@mario123m She dubbed these performances you've mentioned but, so? That's why i said diminished. It is still "They". She's part of the dubbing process but it's not her entire decision firsthand. It's something that needs to be done on most occasions. Altho you might need to at least recognize the recording companies she's worked on. All are on Hollywood, which already practices dubbing in any way, of course Mariah will not be an exception to that. But do you even know what "up to this day" means? I believe that the Butterfly World Tour wasn't dubbed by rerecorded vocals instead dubbed by the vocals from the mic feed coz of some imperfections. But I do not agree on the dubbing being her entire decision tho. Just trying to emphasize that your "up until this day" is bullcrap. Of course lots of performances are dubbed but it was never really her decision entirely. Dubbing is like a requirement where a singer is encouraged to rerecord vocals for high-quality product.

I’ve been to 3 Mariah concerts..when her voice pumps through those speakers it’s like nothing you’ve ever felt...I literally sobbed the whole way through one...when you can connect the lyrics and songs you’ve adored your whole life with the power and presence of it....unbelievable..

Haters on the official video comment section be like "Oh, she sounds Good, but this version in dubbed" But when you come to the undubbed version... IT'S EVEN BETTER! LOL Queen! 👑❤

Back then, Motola, her husband and her boss, was crazy about trying to sell her as a perfect singing machine, with no raspyness or vocal flaws, so he would put her in the Studio and then he would make her re-sing the vocals over The recorded show, to mix it up and release it. It is still a live sound, but recorded in the studio and "retouched". In My opinion, this was a total waste of time. Her tone and range in the early 90's were amazing live as Well. Her resonance and vocal control are What make her unique during live performances! Editing The audio steals away all The magic Of it, as You can notice if You compare both versions. She's a Queen

God was all up and through her this night at this concert. Holy shit. I think she truly outdid herself, here.

There's not one person on here who can disagree that this is WAY better than the dubbed version...like...2:25?! WOW. This goes to show that someone may have forced Ms. Carey's to dub a lot of her performances for quality purposes and not because the performance itself is subpar because this is proof that her dubbed versions are not always better

Everlong Raider But then again her label at the time was basically controlling her, and by "label" I mean douchy ass husband, and Mariah was very insecure about herself and always thought she did something wrong in any of her songs on the radio, but she most certainly never decided on dubbing her concerts to the point where her voice sounds super nasal

this sounds better ONLY because it has more reverb/acoustic due to the location. they almost did the same vocal performance with the dubbed recording (just lacking a bit reverb or surround acoustic and that just it nothing else)

Esfsddfsafsa Sgsdfgsdfg The audio here makes her sound less nasal, in the dubbed one you can barely hear the full volume of her voice. Here it may sound too loud, but it certainly reduces the nasal sound which is why many lambs prefer it over the dubbed version.

And this ladies and gentlemen is why we love her...I remember this night, she sang her ass off for over 2 hours..some songs had 2 takes, drummer missed his cue, crowd louder than mariah..but never the less the naysayers look no further than this to show and prove Mariah has always been the real deal

I have no idea what she called on for this concert, but she was in good voice here. She sounded strong and clear. I still have issues with the dubbing thing, but it's all for the best, I guess. One of the rare times she's on point live and on the spot.

the dubbed thing was so unnecessary, she actually sounded nasal on vol dubbed and sounded great on the undubbed version not to mention without you, that was a crime to dub that. Guess it was to remove the extra noise.
