This song feels like winter. Subtle but cold. Dark, precise and haunting. I could feel the airiness in her voice traversing via the wind through mountains and trees. Ultimately, it catches up with you… feeling a tremor of loneliness thus run back to embrace her.

*This is the song that made me a LAMB! I bought the Dreamlover single as a casual fan, flipped over the cassette to the B-side and then accidentally experienced what true ecstasy was. After the song ended I just sat there in silence trying to recollect myself and figure out what just happened... I've been obsessed ever since!*

This R&B that Mariah sings gives me enormous nostalgia, even though I wasn't born in the 90s.

This track's producer passed on 2/18/2021. Mark Morales a/k/a Prince Markie Dee (formerly of the Fat Boys) and his Soul Convention production company manned the boards for this gem that SHOULD HAVE been an A-side single.

Her "du du" adlib at the start matches the wind instrument's repetitive sound towards the end of the song. Her brilliant mimicking knows no bound.

because Sony's mangers rejected this song, forced her to do so, she loves all of her songs but Sony didn't like, it's not her fault. But because of Sony's fault, we have to experience this song for the first time again in modern times.

I'm a man (not homosexual, feminine or bi but a man) yet I'm a huge Mariah fan. Favorite singer all time. Been listening to her since late80s/early 90s when she will be played on the morning radio while my dad was dropping me off at school. I have all her music (cassettes, CDs to...well now everything is assessible via KZread). But yes, THIS song definitely top 5 of hers. This one melts deep into my soul.. It's actually the same mastering as when she released this song back in 1993 as the B-Side to Dreamlover. I compared both releases to see which one sounded better, and found that it's the same as it's always been, a beautiful, crisp, high definition audio, breathy digital recording. Thankfully all the songs on The Rarities CD didn't need to be Digitally remastered except for Here We Go Again which was originally mastered in analog. So basically Do You Think Of Me and all the other tracks were just Digitally copied and pasted into this compilation album

I love that she is back at Sony. Every single thing she is doing for her career is on point. It takes me back to the early days when she just started. Pure perfection. Also adore that she is showing us lambs her whole heart and and giving us so much that we have never heard to show her appreciation while simultaneously showing casual listeners that she has one hell of a repertoire and she isn't a flash in the pan and is substantive AF and that music is truly her soul.

I think he has a really solid group of people she trusts as close friends and a group of people at Sony who she trusts too and maybe have cultivated a postive relationship with her instead of being.'yes' people. Proud AF of and for her.

I thought it was a positive thing but I think she needs to let Sony manage her promotion because Jay Z company is not doing any favors, they did a great job sort of erasing the NYE debacle but after that she is going unnoticed for many tgibks and is Roc Nations fault. Maybe Epic Records can offer something better.

Finally officially out there...This song deserves to be a single

Mariah's tone here in the Music Box era was very distinct from her Daydream Era vocals. Here she's a real classical entertainer singer with her transatlantic accent and high, shouting-like vocals. Like a 50s singer. This was probably one of the earlier songs she produced on Music Box, because there are some tracks on Music Box where you can start to hear her Daydream tone, like Hero, and I've Been Thinking About You (real Daydreamy), with less bluesy IIIb-II-I dissonant vocals and more III-II-I runs. She still has that bluesy misty steamy tone like in Can't Let Go or If It's Over in this song, but it's one of the last times she sings in this way.

I honestly think this was recorded later. She had the “Proctor’s Theater Concert” tone here, which means that she’s full-on Music Box sound here.

One of her most underrated ballads. Very beautiful, a gem 💎🦋

The way she goes up in a soft crescendo and Then sweeps back down! 😭 Skill + meaning + emotion! My very first voice teacher never disappoints!!!

I just love and appreciate how you can hear that this was written and produced during a transition in popular music. The bass, pads, and sampled saxophone are still early 90’s while the percussion, acoustic guitar and vocal mixing set the stage for her mid 90’s sound
