She’s really embracing her darker tone , and it’s so beautiful . I think she’s adapting to the 5th octave belts .. it seems harder to do it when she’s not nasally 😻

Sadly she only did it because she was sick during the whole tour and when shes sick shes forced to do a darker tone. I wish she embraced it tho

She had a naturally darker tone than what she is known for anyways; I wonder if it she wasn't forced to do a lot of those high belts from like 1993 onwards would her voice be in better shape. Like her first album and emotions, while technically less consistent and more strained, was a big showcase for her darker tone and then she got vocal lessons. 1993 was a great year where she retained some of that soulful/fuller/darker sound but also could belt/mix well and then after that she was belting extremely high by 1994. Listen to the demo that she did in either 1986 or 1987 of Weakness of The Body in it's original key. She had a naturally deep voice there. Also when she was singing hero at the basketball game where Michael Jordan was watching, specifically when she was singing 'The way' part in the sound. It sounded so full and darker, kind of like the f#4 in this video at 4:44 and I'm pretty sure there is another thing I can link but I can't remember what it was off the top of my head that showcased her darker tone.

@@thelegendofmimi3151 I KNOWWW I JUST REALIZED SHE JUST NEEDED HER BELTS and also falsetto too but early to mid 2022 she had an accessible falsetto but her head-voice is treating her well this era. Atleast her mid belts were great.

Toronto 2nd night was the best of the tour, she sounded pretty good there, strong lows, belts were more accessible and free, more controlled, like the whistles

@@benriveranav nah I think 2022's whistles are for the most part better than 2019's whistles because 2022 had better pitch for the most part, plus her whistles in 2022 are airier and don't have that head voice/scratchy quality Caution's whistles had

It’s odd how touring tires her voice but not touring seems to tire it out too. Like when she was performing through 2017 her voice tired out but then by the end of 2017 her voice was in a better place for the Christmas shows. Same thing in 2018 with the butterfly returns and then the Asia tour where her voice improved.

That also happens with 2014. Like her 2014 voice is great its just very inconsistent but in her xmas shows on that year shes like literally almost on her prime level.

I think it’s like a difference of how bad/inflamed her voice is. Like rainbow, Butterfly, TAOM tours all were inflamed, so she would benefit from rest (as is the case in 2022). But when her voice is not that inflamed it can improve with use- like 2016, 2018, 2003, etc. I think Mariah may not understand this difference, but I’m confidence that she’s adapting to a new voice , even if it’s one that’s not live onstage😭

Mariah doesn’t owe us anything at all so I’m very grateful for her to have done these shows but after 2 years of rest she shouldn’t sound like this. Rest is necessary but it’s not the only factor into having an overall better voice, while her fluidity and lows have improved she has a plethora of other issues that can only be helped by a vocal coach and I’m aware Mariah thinks that if she learns the rules that they’ll limit her creative freedom but I just want her to know that there’s a way for her to do what she wants more easily and more consistently as her vocal problems are very apparent rn, ik she’s a singer and all singers have bad days and with Mariah’s nodules that’s times 5 but a vocal coach will help her navigate those bad days much better than she has been but bottom line I’m grateful for anything Mariah puts out for me to enjoy I just had a thought

Her belting is damn near gone yall only talk about the alright stuff or it’s lipped stop being delusional and let her rest for at least a few years….and I know Mariah loves seeing her fans but there’s other ways of doing it rather then trying to hit notes you did 30 years ago she needs proper vocal warmups too😢😅hopefully this year isn’t that bad not hating I’m genuinely concerned

we need to embrace her ligher tone is gone and she has a darker one. she should make new albums with this new tone she has. i think the reason why people think she can't sing anymore is because her voice doesn't suit her old songs anymore. She's really a butterfly who goes to another metamorphosis

"Caution" is the album with the darker tone.

Her voice is in such a tragic state that I almost feel sorry for her. Seeing the comment section filled with delusional fans praising her for lip synched vocals or for sounding merely decent is kinda sad, considering her peak.

A lot of that "live" vocals are actually pre recorded

So many wrong notes like instead of E6 in When Christmas Comes, you made F6 & Fly Like A Bird's G#6 was actually G6 And you included many lipped notes like intro of Emotions 😔

she sound out of breath in a lot of occasions really. but the creative adlibs, the runs, the lows, mid-chest and whistles are great. most of the "I love her but..." lambs are her worst enemy. because most of the time it's not a constructive criticism, it's plain hate. oh, if you're not one of those, don't feel attacked, this comment is not target to you.
