Maria Taylor Leaves ESPN

Maria Taylor officially leaves ESPN after the NBA finals, and is heading to NBC for the Olympics.
“Start Your Day” hosts Mike Hill and Sharon Reed talk about Taylor’s new role at NBC, where she will get to cover more global sports and be the sports voice on the “Today Show.”
Reed wishes Taylor success on this new venture but Reed just hopes that this isn’t a flashy headline. Reed wants Taylor to be supported and paid in her new exciting journey with NBC.
Reed then discusses who will replace Taylor at ESPN and says there is already speculation about who will be, but it won’t be Rachel Nichols.
All this and more on “Start Your Day.”

Okay so let me get this straight. Is she really saying that Maria Taylor should ask for and deserves Steven A. Smith money because other people from different races are getting that money even if they don't deserve it? What? Whatever happen to getting paid the money you deserve by EARNING it. I like Maria Taylor and I hope she gets every dime she deserves but compensating someone just because other people may be getting something they don't deserve is never a good idea and won't sustain any company in the long run.

Maria planned this move to NBC Sports months ago. Her contract with ESPN expired during the finals. She did ESPN a favor by finishing the NBA FINALS, and delaying her trip to Tokyo. The little NBA Finals assignment Rachel covets, is a nuisance to Maria Taylor. Meanwhile, Maria Taylor arrives in Tokyo to be mentored by Bob Costas. Rachel is a bigoted liar who created race controversy, to hide the fact she was demoted. But White Americans are so selfish and gullible, they took Rachel's opinion as a fact. Even Adam Silver foolishly rode in to save Rachel's career from the diversity boogie man. "Have you ever read the scripture: The Stone the Builders Rejected has become the Cornerstone...and it is beautiful in our eyes"

But even aside from the money, I'm talking about the prestigious position she had which she was so good at, and the doors she coulda opened for others by one, spearheading positive change. It was obvious that she earned that spot because of skill, talent and hard work. I call it "getting that NBC money". I don't need to see her contract to know she got paid handsomely. If you are popular they will take you in and pay you right. More than your worth actually. There are a few ESPN detectors on the roster, to be sure. She is the "it girl" of the moment in sports broadcasting too. Yeah, she struck while that iron was hot. Good for her. She was doing so much for that network, they probably didn't pay her what she was worth. So many quality people left ESPN, she just got out of there earlier than most.

They both work inside the industry so they offer an inside look at the dynamics that common viewers don’t have. Look at most news outlets. There’s always always personal perspectives being shared. Stop being critical and judgmental of these professionals doing the same thing that’s done at virtually every other network.
