The Maria Rosa variety is one of the most weather tolerant and vigorous growers of dragonfruit plant varieties. I have witnessed Maria Rosa dragonfruit plants survive cold fronts that brought temperatures down to the mid 20's and the Maria Rosa dragonfruit plants survived. I have witnessed that variety survive being in temperatures slightly below freezing and they still survived multiple times. The flavor of the Maria Rosa in my opinion is like eating a sweeter, less tart version of Vietnamese white but, it has a slight white grape after taste and the flesh of the fruit has a smoother texture. In my opinion the Maria Rosa variety grows slightly faster than the Vietnamese white variety and, they make superb rootstocks for grafting.

Was just gifted one. It's very vigorous so I might have been given the (not) which doesn't bother me

Nice. the "real one" has a darker color, almost pink on the new growth.

Dragon fruit spines are not that big there kind of small but if they poke your hand they don’t end up on your skin they stay on the plant

I have a table full of plants and my dragon fruit cactus was in front of the plants and one time I was grabbing a plant to move it somewhere else and when I was moving it some of the spines on the dragon fruit cactus ripped one of the leaves in half because that leaf got caught on the spines

Are you still getting fruits? Here in south-east Asia it’s winter season and all the dragon plants are taking nap. No fruit at all🙄
