    Wonderful video 👑👌💪🌵🌵🌵 Make more of such videos Maybe you can make a serial videos in which you speak about one group of varieties in each ... For example : Video about Hylocereus ocamponis Hylocereus megalanthus Hylocereus polyrhizus Hylocereus setaceus Hylocereus guatemalensis And others if there is any hylocereus more 🤗🤗🤗

    I live in Barbados but I do not know the variety I have. I got it from a lady and she didnt know either. I hand pollinated three flowers but im not sure if it is self pollinating or self sterile so I might have to wait on next season to cross pollinate to bear fruit

  • @RAREDRAGONFRUIT

    @RAREDRAGONFRUIT

    Hopefully it's self fertile. Try to cross pollenate whenever possible. Grow some Sugar Dragon or American Beauty to start and have a pollen source.

    One question: Some oranges are undesirable "sour oranges." The same goes for apples. I live in Thailand. I have eaten many types of dragon fruit.... several different colors, tastes, and textures. All are delicious. But they don't sell "terrible" dragon fruits in the market. Are there "undesirable" bitter or sour strains? Or.... Are they all just different varieties of a great and tasty fruit???? I would hate to invest five years on a lame plant. Thanks. I hit the thumbs 👍 button to feed the algorithm monster.

    Paul 6:40 that is not a selenicereus setaceus, the whole Sugar Dragon family has nothing to do with the setaceus. The setaceus is particularly recognizable... Would you ever say that an American beauty is a selenicereus megalanthus? No, because they are very very different. The same thing goes for the setaceus: they have groups of very pronounced and thick spines (if I remember correctly, the Sugar Dragon family has only one spine like the Guatemalan ones); a branch shape very similar to megalanthus as well as the bud; the fruit has only white pulp.

    The selenicereus/ hylocereus setaceus umbrella is a horrible mix of plant characteristics that cover half of South America. The “community” considers these plants to be s. Setaceus for better or worse and market them as such. Look at spicy exotics version and other’s I’ve collected. They are very similar to the white flesh variants.
