Hello everyone! Thank you for the comments, I really love reading them! I also want to thank all of you for giving me bite sized infos of what GMA has been doing in the past when it comes to the Philippine historical settings. I AM NOT AWARE OF THIS. And I feel bad for not knowing about them at all even though I promote Filipino culture and my love for any kind of history in channel and social media. I noticed a lot of people would want me to watch AMAYA and the other shows. I might actually do a reaction on at least AMAYA because of how many people recommended it to me. While I'm not going to do a reaction for all episodes (due to time constraints), I might simply do a reaction to the first episode and probably the last and give a review about it. Again, thank you for the support! My main goal in this channel is to simply talk about Filipino media and its representation outside of the Philippines: whether it's good or bad because I want full transparency. Ingat!

GMA always amazes me with their TV series concepts. They brought back history in a very interesting way for our current young generation to get a glimpse of what the past was and how it becomes relevant to our day and how their lessons can still guide us today. Kudos to GMA

Amaya is top tier sobrang laki ng production nito. Hanggang ngayon isa parin ang amaya sa pinaka magastos na teleserye na nagawa. Ginamit din to ng deped sa mga school para panuodin. Sobrang ganda naman talaga ❤

Sa lahat ginawa nila Amaya has more accurate in clothing though they they'd done in modern way like ung damit ng Dian may zipper. Then illustrado ung pinaka inaccurate Ang clothing timeline at design. Indio is also good but, as I made research about Philippine clothing on 1600s pattern with west and Orientals may mga Mali sila sa both sides of west, Chinese and Filipino. Like early 1600s they'd show Chinese from late Qing dynasty and the Indios wearing pants(1800s style). Pants were that reach ankles created during 1800s. Filipino illustration during 1600s from Japanese illustration is a mixture of west and indigenous fashion. Sa Maria Clara at Ybarra I saw 1900s clothing at 1850s like Barbie hoops shape skirt which is 3 decade ago from 1880s where Noli is.

During the filming of Amaya ay mayroon din silang Historians during the filming. Doon ko na-learn kung gaano pala kayaman ang Pilipinas before the Spanish time. Illustrado was a good show too played by Alden Richards.

Yung Sahaya naging nawawalang anak plot in the end

I must admit that I am huge Abs Cbn fan but GMA really win me with Maria Clara at Ibarra. The take was so fun and fresh. They made a great choice of getting Barbie. She is such a good actress, as her genre is dramedy. Dennis and Tirso are known for their acting chops. GMA is really upping their game. Always pushing the envelope. Taking brave concepts like My Husband’s lover, Amaya and Encantadia. Not the usual storyline but made an impact for years.

Yes nanotice ko rin ung ABS more on love teams sila, family drama parang ayan lagi ang nakikita kong genre. However, sa GMA naman nag e-explore talaga sila ng iba't ibang genre like my favorite show ung Widow's Web, a thriller-suspense drama, etong MCA which is my genre talaga so I'm very excited dito yet puro bash nakukuha nila and idk why.

Most bashers naman ng GMA ay galing sa fans ng former big network na ABS. Karamihan ng keyboard warriors na fans ng ABS ay yung not-so-well educated viewers kaya ganun nalang makipaglaban alang alang sa network na gusto nila, na animo sinasamba na. And they seem huge kasi alam mo naman na most "masa" viewers ay walang pinagkakabisihan kundi mag online at social media. Meanwhile, GMA has lots of viewers rin naman like the other network pero tahimik lang.

Naalala ko pa yung "La Vendetta" horror drama starring Jean Garcia, isa rin talaga sa nagandahan kong gawang GMA.

Being Filipino and solid Kapuso viewer I'm proud of GMAKapusoFoundation for helping our county men especially in times of trouble. Almost P1B worth of relief goods were distributed by GMAKF to hospitals during pandemic and typhoons. Other networks just barely around p50M or lower. Mel tiangco really makes the difference. I just hope the operation will not be affected that much since Nestle Uniliver and Unilab cut back their ads to save their company due to economic uncertainties...

Panuorin nyo yung Amaya kasi before Spaniards colonization yung setting nun, mga Raja pa, ang ending ng Amaya ay pagdating ni Magellan. Actually, nirecommend pa yun ng DepEd dati na ipalabas sa mga schools since most of public schools ay may tv sa loob ng room.

GMA doing all the efforts , still very underrated.

Nasa GMA ang pinakasikat at pinakamataas na rating- Mulawin, Encantadia, Marimar, Darna -angel and marian, Captain Barbel, Super Twins Marimar, Dyesebel and Amaya etc.

Yong GMA dramas noon na LEGAL WIVES was a historical drama about Filipino muslim. AMAYA was a historical story drama about People of the Philippines before Spanish colonization. SAHAYA was the story of BADJAO in the Philippines particularly in Mindanao. INDIO was another historical soap opera about the Filipino na nilait at kinutya ng mga dayuhang kastila .I heard gagawa rin ang GMA ng isang drama noong panahon ng Japanese occupation sa Philippines. I forgot the title but it’s sounds like APOY SA LUPA or NAG AAPOY NA LUPA something like that.Nakagawa na rin sila ng movie at tv drama na RIZAL and RIZAL SA DAPITAN.

Amaya is the best historical or period drama in Philippines. Pinaggastusan talaga. So far, ang amaya ang pinaka big budgeted teleserye in phil tv.

Since inaadapt na rin ng GMA ang mga asian drama format na hindi na masyadong nagtatagal ang humahaba ang episodes na minsan nakakasira na ng plot, ginagawa na talaga nilang per season ang drama nila... i think gagawan nila ito ng season 2 na tungkol naman sa el fili, lalo na kung pumatok hanggang finale..

Katipunan & Ilustrado ng GMA Public Affairs were great series too - straight from history books

His character studied in Europe. English, apart from Latin, was widely spoken among scholars due to British influence. I trust the authenticity that they put in their portrayal of the events that time coz they have consultants from UPD.

I love the amount of care they are doing for this show. I think GMA gets a bad rap for some of their bad shows and lumalabas tuloy for non-GMA viewers that all their shows are bad. I'm guilty of that.

@@jasperabibas Nag ki cater kasi ang GMA sa lahat ng klase ng audience. (masa or bakya to intellectual audiences). From yong sinasabi nilang "kabitan, agawan ng asawa, nawawalang anak, sampalan, inaaping bida" (usually afternoon prime) hanggang sa ganitong klaseng classic and historical/cultural-themed shows (usually primetime). Ang tumatatak lang kasi sa mga bashers ng GMA ay yong mga nauna kong binanggit.😀

@@buckyross2519 very true. but we also watched abscbn drama shows. magaling tlga kasi scriptwriters nila na tlgang tatak mga linyahan sa mga audience. pro kung tutuusin, same plot and genre lang naman, ngiiba iba lang ng settings and konting ikot sa story but old fashioned drama pa din which is they are good at it. but gma ay natatabunan kasi sa dami ng bashers ng abscbn, ang dami nila trendsetters sa twitter and fb. GMA lang naman ang mapagexperiment lage sa mga kwento, from my Husband's Lover and Richman's Daughter pti Onanay.

GMA is amazing but, the clothing they'd mixed it up with some from 1900s(american period) and 1850s base to all trailer I've watched. The timeline of Noli is 1880s the trends changes throughout the decades same sa modern era.

what you are saying is true, this maria clara and ibarra is kakaiba from other historical drama kasi may fusion ng present and past, parang fushigi yugi...not to mention i like barbie and dennis...and although nde mataba ung padre damaso na usually ganun description ng most prayle, tirso cruz III is a good thespian, also juan rodrigo, a very good actor also....then since namention mo si darna...ung darna starring marian rivera ay mas maganda ang story content kesa recent darna and marian is the best darna for me

Totoo na maraming epic fail series ang GMA in the past. Pero start checking their dramas during and after the quarantine/pandemic period. Nag improve na ng husto ang GMA. Medyo hindi pa ganoon kaayos ang execution nila versus ABS' production, pero way better na ung storyline, post production at visuals nila unlike before. Palong palo sila sa TV series offering nila this year.

Actually matagal ng maganda ang mga shows ng GMA, dumating lang sa isang point na kumbaga pumangit; kalimitan about sa kabit or may same plots. Kaya I'm happy na unti-unting bumabalik yung magaganda nilang concepts.

Sorry pero, clearly di ka nanunuod sa gma. While ABS-CBN is good at dramas, forte naman ng GMA ang Historical-fantasy genre noon pa man. Their sfx are way ahead sa ABS-CBN. Pumangit lang nung sa Victor Magtanggol, na ginawang butas ng mga haters at pinalaki yung issue na pangit ang shows ng GMA, when in fact, ang dami ng shows di lang maganda kundi educational pa, like Amaya, Indio, Sahaya, Legal Wives etc. Mga pinasikat na fantaserye like Encantadia, Mulawin, Majika, Ilumina etc.

@@lahrain6633 true..I noticed that too, yan yung time wala masyadong commercials(I think dito lang sa min sa mindanao/regional channels) kasi di naman kami nakacable, im not sure sa luzon. Paulit-ulit lang mga teaser na pinapalabas at medyo nakakairita na. if im not mistaken that was around 2013-2014. Parang wala silang masyadong budget ng mga time na yun and I read an article na may mga mga nagsara na regional office/channels nila noon.

Try nio po yung amaya lods .. Maganda din po iyon tas yung indio .. ☺️
