No se como explicar el impacto que me da la Callas al cantar, es como transportarme a la historia que cuenta en ese momento y puedo incluso sentir su voz desgarradora y apasionante no solo en mis oídos sino en mi corazón, ella no solo canta con la garganta y diafragma sino con su alma y puedo hasta verla y eso me emociona de sobremanera, nunca he visto ni escuchado a una cantante de ópera que me permita sentir su propia alma... es raro vd, ciertamente.....

Maria de Montserrat Caballe sang with passion also.

So incredibly beautiful. My mom was a coloratura. She would sing this to us as a lullabye. To this day, can't hear this without tearing up. Mom passed in June. She was 95.

Thats what is so touching about her. She becomes the person whose part she is singing. As here she is a young, teenaged girl who is so in love that she wants to die.

This is the best O mio babbino I have ever heard. (And I have heard a lot of them.) She sings it the most heartfelt. She is almost crying at a moments. She is really singing from her heart.Many other singers sing it very, very beautiful, too. Almost as beautiful as her, but nobody sings it as directly from heart as Maria Callas.And this is why she is irresistible, the best.

Yes, I did. Very lovely sung, wow, but I don't like videos with little girls singing opera arias, because they are systematically destroying their voices doing that. And I have no pleasure to listen to somebody who is destroying his voice. And the audience is not listening to beautiful music, they are just listening if she will be able to sing all the high tones and how adult sound is she able to make. For me, this is more circus than art. AND I DON'T LIKE IT!

Yes and this one 9f favorites. So Beautiful. And the story behind the music. She was lovely woman.If you read her biography , she had a rate muscular disease that began her decline in voice. I always felt very sorry she was dumped by In Asia and will GOEVER not understand JACKI Kennedy's marriage to him? Very odd.

So, I wonder, how many opera songs do you need to like before you become a fan. There are several I like, but I have never been to an opera. Anyway, this son by Maria is exquisite, and I could listen to it over and over again.

No need to understand the words. Just listen to the exquisite delivery with such emotion and perfection of vocal technique. I prefer Montserrat Caballe for her totally angelic control and unworldly range from seating power to breathtaking softness, but Maria Callas delivers the soul of an aria stripped down to its very essence.

The soprano which every other soprano aspires to be. Gone 37 years, but the magic of the voice is still with us thanks to recordings.

I'm in tears too. None of the other versions by other well-known sopranos have the same effect on me. The thing is that I know nothing about opera, so I can't discuss technique, all that I know is what I feel deep inside and Callas moves me like no other singer.

Surely there have been great sopranos like Sutherland, Caballé, Peters, Te Kanawa to mention very few, but Callas was superb in every sense: soul, musicality, technique, etc. To watch these videos is to witness her amazing talent and admire her beautiful renditions no matter what style or composer whether, Puccini, Verdi, Wagner, Donizetti, or language, she was beautiful to watch, to listen and to admire. So sad she died alone, abandoned and young. Blessed Maria Callas wherever you are, thank you for your HUGE contribution to Opera and the arts in general.

The finest performance of the aria on youtube. Only Callas displays the joy expressed in the first part of the lyric, then so clearly turns to the desperation and despair that the character feels as she makes this plea to her father. Even if one does not understand the words, Callas makes you feel her emotion. Most sopranos perform this aria with a focus on technical aspects and trying to sound perfect. Maria sings it to break your heart. And she does. I would request that the channel remove the "card" at the end for another hosted video. It spoils the ending of Maria's performance.

Such a poetry, real humanity and simplicity in expression of a most profound, universal nostalgy and longing for the infinity of the soul could until now no other singer and no other musician express as Maria Calles. All other musicians are compared to Maria Callas too material, too technical. Maria Callas was not only an opera singer, she was a unique poetic soul which could give the music she sang its most profound existential meaning. In her singing the music is expressed and experienced as real true life and this is the difference to all other singers which are not capable to transcend the music they sing from the "spectacle" into REAL life, as Maria Calas could. She was music and the music meant for her the real life itself.

Brava! Perhaps among the best, if not the best soprano of all time. Her voice is supremely beautiful and brings a life to this piece which few if any can match. The soaring highs, clear as Crystal, and so full of emotion as is required with any singer and Puccini's pieces; you can see how emotionally invested in the song she is. It is sad that there are so few out there that will even have a glimmer of a chance of coming close to a voice like this!
