This award is a celebration of the life of Maria C. Sanchez and her tireless work to ensure the Puerto Rican Community in Hartford across the state of Connecticut was not invisible to the educational system. She worked to remove barriers to access to services, so much so that she became one of the voices and chairholders always at the table.
