I only went pole fishing for the very first time last weekend and I caught a 9lb 8oz Common on my first ship out. I was stunned as didn't realise how far that bloody elastic goes, to say I'm well and truly hooked on pole fishing is an understatement, caught with a 10m Edge Monster.

My biggest margin Carp was 21.5lb on the pole from Meadowlands. Great video Jon, good to see you back on the bank and into some big uns!

Only just started fishing commercials, always fished canals etc. Catching skimmers and tench then had an eight pound mirror out of the margin, great fun. Fantastic video Jon, hope you are feeling better.

Hi John. Biggest margin carp was a fraction over 24lb. April 30th 2021. Cob Farm Fishery. 6mm meat on a 16KKM to 0.17. 0.19 mainline with 15 hollo elastic. Took me nearly 20 mins to land it. I named her Flo (after my first granddaughter that was born 3 days earlier). Great video by the way. Fished Larford a couple of years ago. Couldn’t believe the average size of the fish. Unbelievable. 🎣

Used my new V2 margin pole for the first time in my last club match. Really impressed. Very strong. And it certainly gives the top kits a work out. Being 11m and reaching the next pallet was the reason for purchase. Perfect. I managed to win the match too. So pole well and truly christened. It joins my MTX-1 and MTX-4. Love the fact that all the top kits are interchangeable. Best fish so far was around 15lb. 🐳👍👏

Great video as, usual John. My biggest ever carp on pole was a 17lb 10oz common from shallowbrook lakes Norwich. Same double corn on hook feeding micros and corn down edge. Strange was fishing beside a big willow tree and it gracefully swam out into the middle of the lake not into the middle of the tree

Great video Jon. The first time I fished at Larford I was seriously under gunned with my elastic, had to go to a local tackle shop to get sorted. My biggest margin carp is only 15lb 1 oz from a local mixed fishery.

Another great JA video it sounds as you are over your bought of covid. My biggest margin carp to date was from Dave's Pool (Wolvey) which by the way was last week end and it weighed 20lb 4oz on an MTX2 with 18 to 20 green slik.

Hi Jon.. mine was an absolutely pristine glistening old common from Park Farm Lakes during the Wensum Autumn Angling Festival.. she weighed 18lb 12oz and led me a very long and stretchy battle.. she won me the specimen trophy as well as a contribution to day one winner.. to be fair, after the weigh in, I didn’t really want to let her go I just cradled her until she dipped and powered away …

17lb on a prawn! Of all things! Down the Reed bed edge at Pimlico farm top lake. 16-18 hollow, which felt like 80% of it was out of the pole at one stage! 😂. No puller kit either 😮😂. Great video Jon!

Some real beasts there! Well done Jon. My largest fish from a margin was a 10lb carp from a local water in Newton Le Willows. Not massive I'll admit but i've only been fishing a couple of years.

My biggest margin fish was from about 4 pegs down from where you were at larford . It went 29lb 13oz on an evening match !!!

Started fishing matches with my club, on the last match of the season last hour in the margin caught my biggest fish ever with my 10m margin pole (as I was new to pole fishing this was my only pole) it was a 16lb 1/2 oz beautiful mirror on signal at Lodge Farm fishery, because it took so long to land guy in next peg asked if I was waiting for the camera's ha! it turned out I won biggest fish of the season👍

Hi Jon I still use an old maver carpa 12.5m pole the biggest carp so far is 24lbs mirror from summer's pond near Horsham.. Super strong pole not bad for an 90's pole.. using 17hollo.. 0.20lb to 0.18lb to browning Sphere beast hooks in size 13.. Great video Jon..

my biggest margin carp is 15lb 5oz from my local pool, i was also using the 11m MTX margin pole, i also hooked into another big carp, was playing it for roughly 10/ 15 mins before it started to come closer, then it suddenly just shot off back to middle like a torpedo, thats when the bottom section of my top kit snapped, luckily it freed itself from the hook.

My best is a 13lb mirror on my top 3 at my club Lake took 5 minutes to land but was well worth it.

At my local venue you can easily hit the net limit of 50lb in three fish.... Some proper zoo creatures!!! Just over 14lb is my biggest on the margin pole! That mxt is well worth a look! Tight lines!

My best 16-1/2 on my mtx1 at monks lake in Kent. Also a 17 1/2 from monks on drennan acolyte margin.

Not sure if it counts but I christened my new matrix 11ft commercial feeder with a 20lb common on double corn yesterday! If not had 3 fish for 50lb at the same lake on the pole with 2mm pellet and corn last year.

18lb 4oz first put in on my top two on Lizard at Makins, which is actually the fish im holding on my profile pic, Proper units at Larford and nice margin pole may have to get one.

In answer to the question my best margin caught carp was at Witherington farm on Selwood lake with a total of 129 lb the largest of which was 13lb 10 🤪

22lb mirror from the club lake on my 2nd or 3rd time using a pole. 12-14 elastic and took me 40mins to land. Not my proudest moment and a huge learning session. Called a carp angler over with a 36” net to land it.

I've had a few carp from the margins, on the pole, at viaduct, Rolf's and Larford up around the 24lb range. It'd be nice to catch a 30.....

Fishing for silvers in the edge, hooked a lump of common just shy of 15lb on power match top kit green 8-10 slik, 16 hook on .16 line, single white mag 20 mins to get it in 🥵 5ways Wolvey.

I went for a nice civilised silvers match with my grandad and had 8-10 slik in and hooked a 22lb 8 common, it took 45minutes to get it in, not bad for 2 red maggots

Afew years ago I had a 24lb off the middle bank on that very same lake , some fish in there....need to get back I think!
