Marella Far East Cruise - VLOG 7 - Sea Day & Bangkok
Our 7th VLOG covers our trip into the Gulf of Thailand as we headed towards Bangkok. It was a lazy sea day but we made the most of some rest and relaxation after a frenetic 1st week on the cruise. Our planned port of Laem Shebang had to be switched to the Sriracha but our TUI booked excursion was rescheduled to collect us from the altered port. We took the Temples Canals and Shops excursion. It was a long coach ride into the city but our guide made it interesting. First we were dropped off at the Grand Palace. This tour did not include entry however. Then a hike across the city to the river were boarded a canal boat. We were treated to a 50 minute tour round the city canals taking in the sights. Dropped off at the magnificent Way Arun temple we had time to explore this wondrous place of worship. It's simply beautiful. Then a further hike to catch a bus which took us to the Skytrain which risked us across the city to the MBK shopping mall. An hour here to shop and eat lovely tasty Thai food. Then the long trip back to the ship where we ate in the Surf & Turf restaurant which didn't live up to previous experiences sadly.
This was a frenetic but enjoyable day however.

This brought back some lovely memories for us. We did the Best of Bangkok so we did go in to the Grand Palace. Thanks again for showing us your experience 😀👍

Hi guys! Like we say to other KZreadrs we love and follow (like you guys) we have never fancied cruises but always enjoy watching other people enjoying them! They are like floating cities so much to see and do and the food looks amazing! Plus you get to stop off and see some great places! Been enjoying this series guys we have been watching but not always commented, not for any other reason than don’t want to feel we are writing the same thing 😂 stay awesome Cooks, you rock! Most kind and thank you… Cruises are not for everyone and we deliberately avoided them for many years. After trying one we found the waking up somewhere new element an irresistible lure… Really appreciate the support from such an awesome channel like @GENerationXplorers - We watch your videos frequently and enjoy them immensely.. interesting that you found the surf and turf restaurant disappointing as we did as well on our most recent Marella cruise but the Sushi restaurant was superb. Thanks for the post.

Thank you - It’s good to know it’s not just us & indeed we had similar feedback from ofhers onboard … We have enjoyed Surf n Turf previously so maybe this was a one off but it did seem there had been cut backs in ingredients and portion size too. Will try again on our next Marella cruise.
Some great info, ta. We`ve had a couple of average meals in surf `n turf ( one on another ship ) which means we will be avoiding in future. In contrast the kora la has been excellent. Hope you`ll be doing a round up at the end of your adventure.

Thank you for supporting us and watching our VLOGS … To be fair we’ve had some good meals with Marella speciality dining previously … This one did stand out and the quality of the low cost food in the port stops probably highlighted the shortcomings.. We have competed all our VLOGS now including an end of cruise round up. This was a great holiday overall.
