    There's just something classy about Masterchef UK that stands head and shoulders above other countries. I don't know it if the talent, the cast, the amosphere, the production or the judges, but UK Masterchef really boils down to the real talent for me.

    It's the original and it's very food focussed and everyone is dressed down to begin with, it's not about drama and personalities... you actually learn some proper techniques and recipes here as they spend a lot of time on the technical stuff.. I mean the biggest offender is the US one but around the world I feel it's a bit of a mix there's many countries that do try to be like the UK version and are more serious but there are that do go for the US model and show and ham everything up.

    I’ve eaten at Deans restaurant, at the Waldorf in Edinburgh, just incredible. I’ve eaten fine dining all over the world but it really was one of the best meals I’ve ever had.

    I feel like usually someone drops the ball. Either through a mistake or over ambition. This looks to be a rarer moment where everyone delivered. Very hard decision to make following these dishes.

    quite surprised to hear marcus say he did not expect wasabi to be with the mackerel... it's a common ingredient in sushi and that dish was obviously inspired by sushi.

    In Western fine-dining cuisine, it is a strange combination to be fair. It depends on how you look at it I suppose. If I'm honest, I'm really not a fan of Wasabi with fish, since fish is very delicate and just gets overpowered most of the time. (Whenever I had wasabi with sushi in the past, I could never really taste the fish for example.)

    @@MrPicklerwoof Mackerel is one of the strongest tasting fish, oily and heavy. It is not "light" and "delicate" like other fish such as the dory. If you find that you can't taste the fish after adding wasabi, you have added too much of it.

    What a great show! We're so used to hearing the nasty/hateful comments of Gordon Ramsay that it is utterly refreshing to hear chefs make complimentary comments, even if there were things they weren't crazy about.

    The guy was using honey panko. They are a specialist Japanese product and they are noticeably sweet and often used with langoustine to highlight the soft, sweet flavour of the protein. His comment was spot on.

    @@paulatkinson4589 This has got nothing to do with a missing letter. In this case, the apostrophe shows possession. Example - Paul's house, Paul's car, Paul's illiteracy.
