Marcus Bagwell Addresses Recent Arrest and Sobriety Update November 2023

Ойын-сауық

Despite some recent news reports, Marcus has been doing well on his walk of sobriety! He has had a few violations in the DUI Drug Court program which can result in community service or jail time, but these violations are not due to a drug or alcohol relapse. His update discusses this in more detail and the parts of his journey that he's struggled with after 15 months of sobriety.
We at DDPY continue to be proud of his sobriety and all the work he's putting in on becoming a better person!
This update was filmed one day prior to his court hearing (11/15/23) so his punishment was unknown at the time -- he has since served 24 hours this past week for his DUI court sanction and is back focused on completing his DUI court responsibilities.

Marcus. I began drinking when I was 13 years old. By 21 years old I was in more than 10 detoxes.. It was so freaking hard to quit because I was at the partying age and socializing was all part of being a teenager.. I almost died on 40 klonopins and Vodka. I was hardly alive. Now, im 59 years old and I havent drank in 30 something years. I thought there was no way I can go throw life feeling normal. ( my interpretation of normal ) . Brother, It really does get easier, The longer you stay away. I'm actually glad you are on youtube explaining yourself. This tells others that you really care how your percieved and thats a good thing although You don't have to proove anything to anyone except yourself. I am wishing you the best Buff, You can do it. DONT STOP TRYING.. Thank you DDP for making a difference in peoples lives. That is much more memorable than being a wrestling star. God bless.

Around 1997 or 1998, I visited Six Flags over Georgia. Standing in line for one of the roller coasters, I could hardly believe my eyes. I walked up to the behemoth of a man ahead of me in line and said, "Excuse me, sir. Are you Marcus 'Buff' Bagwell?" He said he was and signed whatever scrap of paper I managed to find at the moment. I had purchased the pen only a few minutes earlier in the Six Flags gift shop because I had seen Sergeant Craig "the Pitbull" Pitman walking nearby. I managed to get his autograph, then "Buff's." Needless to say, I was on cloud nine. Glad to see the successes these guys are having with Steve and DDP's support. I was a big fan of Page back in the WCW days (even before the championship run), but I daresay I'm an even greater fan of his "post-wrestling" work and vocation.

Cheering you on. My hubby and I are praying for you. You got this. We have to do one day at a time w hubby having leukemia 11 yrs now and having had kidney cancer surgery 2020 then adrenal surgery this summer. I had two uncles that lived w us that my mom loved through and supported them. They were both successful. My uncles both had such great outcomes. Both had DUIs and one went through a convelesent hospital brick sidewalk wall. Miracle no one got hurt. You can get through this buddy. We can pray for each other..this has been a rough time w my hubby being laid off at Baker Hughes two yrs into treatment w his surgeries. You are A winner, you are a success. You can make it and you can do it. I lived w an Italian daddy..I know DDP is cheering you on and all of us are too. Im cheering my hubby on to get The DVDs to be able to exercise. Remember we got your back in prayers. We are your village. I know what it is like seeing my uncles grow through it. DDP is too such an inspiration to all of us here :). Know you got people pulling for you here like me and my hubby.

Buff, keep up the GREAT work man! I know from experience that the temper thing can be a real buzzard, but I too, conquered that, as I know you have the ability too as well. The first step is to think before you act instead of just reacting. That's when you realize what you've been seeing in retrospect, and instead of saying "I COULD have handled things better" you'll be able to say "I COULDN'T have handled things any better". Hang in there, we're cheering for you!

Congratulations!! I just watched your Transformation video on DDPY yesterday and how you saved SCOTTY’s life. I just finished reading an article about OVERCOMING SUGAR/FOOD ADDICTION and how it’s the exact same process for getting clean from Drugs and Alcohol. There’s just less stigma because it’s FOOD and it’s available EVERYWHERE. I started a Carnivore Diet on March 15, 2023 after discovering that I weighed 528 lbs. I lost 63 lbs in the first 4 months without even trying, but then I hit a plateau and I was only losing 3-5 lbs in a month. Then my 50th Birthday arrived and I decided to have Cake and Ice Cream, and I ended up relapsing over the next 4 months. I got “sober” for most of December, and I gave myself permission to eat cookies, and candy, and mashed potatoes, corn, and stuffing over 3 days during Christmas. I unknowingly gained 20 lbs in January after adding a daily Protein Shake Smoothie into my diet. I’ve been eating mostly clean again for the last 2 weeks, except I have allowed myself to have 2 CHEAT DAYS per week. I just recommitted fully to the CARNIVORE DIET and for the next 30 Days I am going to do OMAD - Eat One Meal A Day and avoid carbs and sugar completely. Today is DAY 3.
