When you are finished with the Christology and trinitarian series would you consider doing a series on some of Augustine’s works? I’ve read through several smaller works like “On the Spirit and the Letter” and “Concerning Free Will”. I’m also half way through “City of God”. They have all been very interesting but sometimes I’m left a little confused as to the position he’s asserting. I think it might come down to differences in definition of certain terms. Anyways, I know that you have a great affinity for Augustine and I think a commentary series like that would be very beneficial. We need more Lutheran patristic resources! Thank you Dr. Cooper.

Heretical prayer: O Mother of Perpetual Help, thou art the dispenser of all the gifts which God grants to us miserable sinners; and for this end He has made thee so powerful, so rich, and so bountiful, in order that thou mayest help us in our misery. Thou art the advocate of the most wretched and abandoned sinners who have recourse to thee: come to my aid, for I recommend myself to thee. In thy hands I place my eternal salvation, and to thee I entrust my soul. Count me among thy most devoted servants; take me under thy protection, and it is enough for me. For, if thou protect me, I fear nothing; not from my sins, because thou wilt obtain for me the pardon of them; nor from the devils, because thou art more powerful than all hell together; nor even from Jesus, my judge, because by one prayer from thee He will be appeased. But one thing I fear: that in the hour of temptation I may through negligence fail to have recourse to thee and thus perish miserably. Obtain for me, therefore, the pardon of my sins, love for Jesus, final perseverance, and the grace ever to have recourse to thee, O Mother of Perpetual Help. This is a legit Catholic prayer, look up "O Mother of Perpetual Help" if you want to know if it’s legit. This is super heretical. This doctrine of invoking departed saints doesn’t seem just like "hey it’s like praying to a friend.". . : ) :) .

I feel like there is less diminishing of beliefs with arianism than with the trinitity. Like arianism basically answers all the problems of the trinity complex explanation. I dont believe everything arius believed but the idea that there is a clear difference between father and son is the most logical thinking.

How did the Father create Jesus “before time,” as the Arians said? It was rightly pointed out at the time that this is ridiculous … everything outside of time is necessarily eternal. The Trinity is obviously a mystery, but it’s the natural conclusion of looking at all verses. Modalism and Arianism must simply ignore certain verses for their theologies to work. I find Arianism fascinating and think history has distorted what they taught, but … the Arians lost out because they simply had worse theology.

@fighterofthenightman1057 I'm just curious what versus arians would have to ignore? I feel like they quoted more versus in support of their doctrine than the number of versus to support the trinity. Why cant God create something that is outside of our time and universe? If he's all powerful how couldn't he do that? Simply put there was a time when the father was and the son wasn't. It's not that complicated compared to the trinity. Jesus is still lord and savior as gods son but he isn't exactly God the all powerful. It's pretty simple

There is one God almighty. He who formed the world, he who fashioned man, he who is God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, above whom there is no other God. He is the father of our Lord Jesus Christ. For almost all the different sects of heretics admit that there is one God; but then, by there pernicious doctrines, they change this truth into error.

I've heard two people reject the Spirit as distinct from the Father in our church, making them binitarians, and I even heard one from the pulpit suggest that the Son and the Father are not unified in Their will, as Jesus prayed "ley not My will but Yours be done", making them teach the subordinationist heresy by implication. 😢

As you've been covering these heresies, I found myself wondering this week after seeing a video about trinitarian Pentecostals, why Oneness Pentecostals believe what they do. I know what they believe, but not how they come to that interpretation, and especially how they explain moments like the Father saying, "this is my beloved son." If you could cover that at some point, or know of a video that has, it would be helpful. Again, I understand what they believe, but not why.

Disclaimer: this is only my personal experience with one oneness pentecostal I asked this question to. When I asked him about that passage he said something to the effect of "you ever looked into a mirror and seen yourself? And you could say 'this is (insert your name here)'? Well it's like that. He was looking at His reflection in the water and saying that."

The sinoatrial nodes of the neurological function in the interatrial symptom leads to atrial beat, then shortly the ventricular beat through the bundle branches. The ventricular beat is associated with Kermit the Frog's legs and pedaling a bicycle while the hunter for the beat saw the systole and diastole to think of the frog's legs on the plate in his restaurant. The meal is the electrocardiogram and the augmented limb leads 1 and 2, which confirm the bundle branch functions. Miss Piggy is atrial, Kermit the Frog is ventricular. There is no other heart light. The street has a beat, according to many, but politics as usual is run by a chicken with its head cut off.

Arius had gotten the relationship between God and His Son perfectly correct. Modern teaching by God's Ministering Spirits reveals that Arius was right all along and the corrupt church under the influence of Satan got it all horribly wrong. When a church enters into communication with one of God's angels or Ministering Spirits one of the first questions asked is the relationship between God and Christ. The Ministering Spirit will only tell the truth even if it is unpalatable to the listener - and therein lies the answer as to why the Church today does not avail itself of the Spirits of Truth promised by Christ.

God is not ONE, is not TWO, is not THREE. God the Father didn't need to live a REAL TIME relationship with us, that would have been inappropriate: if you are free to make decisions this means that the future is indetermined, unknown, dependent on those decisions. God was able to do that in our past, in a distant "God's temporal dimension". From that past temporal dimension He was able to see us into his future and to interact with that future, with us. But this conversely means that we are NOW observed by Him from that past, in other words a "temporal bridge" exists connecting God to us. Since God actually is not here - He is only "virtually" here - you can say that God is like a spirit here ("God is a spirit" Jn. 4:24), He is the "Spirit of God". The "Spirit of God" (aka Holy Spirit) is thus NOT a third person. In fact you can see in the gospels that everything is made by the Spirit of God, not directly by God. This is what happens, but only from our point of view! From God's point of view things are different! He was able to live all his relationships, to do ALL his almighty God's work even before the world started. When all his work was done, the future of mankind (and God) was ONE, determined. His power was definitely set to make that one future true. God was thus free to get rid of his then useless power and become like a normal man: the SON of God, with no power at all “ I from myself AM NOT ABLE to do a thing” (John 5:30). "Son" means He DERIVES from God "He who sees me sees Him who sent me.". Jesus is not an actual son. All above means that of course - as stated by Jesus - nobody could actually see God: "nobody has seen God at any time" "The world has not known you". This means that the Son of God is ALONE in heaven (TWO Gods cannot exist) Jesus "inherited" it "all things are now in my hands". Jesus is thus the ONLY KING and sits next to the POWER of God because He needs it: He has no OWN power. The Father is in heaven (and here) only in the form of a spirit. Thus, Jesus is NOT the almighty God, yet He is not distinct from Him "I am in the Father and the Father in me" because Jesus WAS that almighty God. In other words They are not the SAME ONE God, yet They are not "TWO distinct Gods". This means that God is more than one and less than two.
