Good coverage. It is interesting to note that Arianism is very similar to Islam in it's belief of God and Jesus. Christianity and Islam have very similar history and beliefs (including their respect for Jesus) but the biggest difference is that Christians are trinitarians and Muslims are unitarians believing in only 1 indivisible god with Jesus being one of his major prophets.

The term "It doesn't make an iota's worth of difference" comes from the Arian/Trinitarian controversy. Trinitarians believe that God the Son was of the same nature as the God the Father. Arians believed that God the Son was of "like nature" with God the Father. The Greek word for "same nature" is "homousious" and the word for "like nature" was "homoiusious." The only difference was the letter "i" - in Greek, "iota." Many in society didn't see the difference.

Independent board game publisher Hollandspiele just put out a new game called Nicaea about this very topic! It does a great job modeling the political opportunism at the heart if the First Nicene Council's theological debates. Worth noting that the production value may not be what you'd expect from a game at its price point, but it's worth it for the gameplay and to support a great independent publisher.

It's nice to be able to deliver using critiquing not insulting or flattery for sure. But nobody has to respect the ideology. It's says things like Israel need only ask and smash us like pottery, crush us with a rod of iron and "inherit" all our lands. Nah man.. it's arrogant as hell to tell people we have to respect talking about genociding us and stealing everything we own. Or when Yahweh says he'll gather EVERY nation to Jerusalem and have their houses sacked and women raped. (12 is marriage age according to him) Absolutely nobody has to "respect" that. Been studying this council since I was 16, always found it interesting. I do have my own opinions and beliefs on what the council is responsible for with the ancient Egyptians but I’ll be mindful/respectful to peoples belief.

The council was called to address the Arianism heresy, stop getting your historical knowledge from Dan Brown novels.

I don't know how you can read the scripture and not notice all the times Jesus clearly states that he acts on behalf of the father, derives his power from the father, prays to the father, doesn't speak of his own accord, etc. and not think that Jesus is subordinate to the father. Weigh that against all the times he says he is equal to the father (none, absolutely zero). Not to mention all the times both Jews and Christians are warned there is one God. Read Isaiah, or Matthew where Jesus states the Shemah is the number onemost important lesson. "Hear o Israel, the Lord is God, the Lord is one..."

What Nicaea did not finish was accomplished at Chalcedon.

I have recited the Nicean Creed so many times in my life and never before thought about its history fascinating

The fact that the church thought that the Son could not be a creation of God due to John Chapter 1v1 is totally unreasonable. The word (or Son) was in the beginning. The beginning of what? God is eternal and had no beginning. The book of Revelation, written by the same apostle John in chapter 3 and verse 14 tells us that the Son (Identified as then faithful and true witness) was the beginning of creation BY God. So, the beginning mentioned in John 1;1 is the beginning of creation. The son is quite obviously the firstborn (brought forth, created) of all creation. The first thing made by the Father. Everything makes sense in the koine Greek when we realize that the Son is created. Divine yes, but created.

the Council of Nicaea also rejected the 7th day Sabbath also know as the Lords day[Luke 6:5, Isaiah 58"13] being to Jewish and voted for the Sunday the day of Sun worship.

This is false the earliest writings of church gathering for the Lord's day by Justin Martyr in First Apology Chapter 67, teaches it was on Sunday long before this council And In Acts 20:7 discusses the eucharist and it being practiced on Sunday

Was the councils of hippo and Carthage in North Africa that ratified the New Testament books. However, this wasn't an ecumenical council but rather a local one. The standard canon was handed down through the tradition of the church, which was unwritten practice. Some churches had slight variants in their canons.

How is it possible that so many people doesn't even put questions about the quality of the Bible ?? Do you guys know from what books was the Bible written? It was written from copies of another copies and again from another copies...... Do you really believe the authenticity of those copies ?? Are we sure that nothing's been changed?? It is written in about 800-900 years, so many different authors, so many contradictions in the Bible .... Don't you guys see all this ?? It's interesting that all these Videos about this topic never says anything about what The Creator of all thing says. When everyone realizes that The Creator has no problem letting his creation know exactly what he wants. Man only adds confusion and division. Religion is not Faith. Religion is organized rules created by men in order to worship and reach the divine. Faith is having belief in something you can't see or touch. As for the second comment I live in Canada and we have more Muslims than Christians. Believing in God and Jesus as the Son of God and the Son of Man isn't superstition. It's plain truth. The only place the Church is going is with Jesus when the rapture of the Church occurs. Don't curse and throw out what you clearly lack understanding in.

The paintings are from centuries after the council. At the council of Nicea miters did not yet exist. We do not see a miter like headdress for bishops before the 11th century, the first small ones probably influenced by the crown of the Byzantine emperor. That is 2000 years after this so called fish God. There is no connection what so ever. This fish god story was invented by a guy in the 19th century with a very bad grasp of history and all he wrote has long been debunked by serious historians.

Can you equate that with all we real about the early Christians. ( I will do more research as to several pagan apendages depicted on church robes. I do know for sure that the 'Chi Rho ( Jesus enitials in Latin) were used by pagan Constantine and adorned to the shields of his warrioirs at the battle of Malvern gate in Rome. It also was displayed on banners that went to areas of the battle to give it more power therre! Christian? I hardly think so!

One of the most topics I believe is missed was they didn't know where to place their capital of the faith. Emperor Hadrian having hated Jews so much had their cities and history erased. Constantine's mother was dispatched to find Jerusalem and the place of the true cross. At the time "Jerusalem" was a village, home to Asiatic Jewish tribes. Coincidently the area was found to be a holy site and became a power base for Constantine in the most ideal location. What if it wasn't the true Jerusalem though?

The first council picking what books are in the Bible was the 382 Council of Rome. Then the 393 Synod of Hippo, 397 Council of Carthage, 1445 Encyclical Council of Florence and then the 1563 Council of Trent. Each one had the same books in them and included the Deuterocanonical books.

So far as I know, only Orthodoxy follows the agreed upon conclusions of the 7 councils. Every other body either ignores (see all protestants) or adds (hello, Rome!) what suits them personally.

This is so ridiculous and shows that men have long altered words to suit their own agendas, similar to what we're seeing with the word woman being redefined. The word begotten literally means made. Son literally means heir. Christ always made it clear that He was a created being throughout His time on Earth, so Arius was correct. These so-called bishops will be judged harshly for their conspiracy with the pagan king.

They do not believe we can be spiritually reborn as Christ was through the Holy Spirit. One thing to note was "well, anti-semitism "played no part on the figuring of the date of Easter. It was over the Quartodeciman Controversy and unifying the Church through the celebration of a unified date to celebrate it. It literally nearly caused a schism in the Church way back in the second century so it wasn't a small potatoes issue or about hating Jews. Another thing is that you were not baptized in the early church at moment of belief by this point. It was something you worked towards, even looking at the canons of Nicaea and prior synods spells this out. Constantine had images of Chi-Ro on his banners and his soldier's shields (you only went into battle for the god you had on your standards), replacing the Aguila of Jupiter and military sacrifices, refused to sacrifice to Jupiter with the Christian worship service, and attempted to banned all pagan sacrifices. He also waited on baptism to be baptized in the River Jordan when he campaigned against Persia but his illness prevented that.

The confusion in religion reflects the different cultures in a quest for control.

The 'holy trinity' may well be a coded political message. Begin with the concept of primogeniture, where the eldest son inherits the entire estate when his father dies. Project this to rules of royal succession: The current king is legitimate because he is the first born son of the 'holy ghost', or what is now the ghost of the previous king. The current king's first born son is the legitimate heir to the throne, thus 'the father, the son, and the holy ghost'. Since royal successions were often messy, this was coded in religious terms. A lot of people that 'never understood' the religious doctrine might have assimilated the intended secular meaning without even realizing it.

Since Religion is a function of Culture whereby the collectives of a society venerate the ideals and model of reality that motivate them unto certain ends. Council of Laodicea Canon 29 Christians must not judaize by resting on the Sabbath, but must work on that day, rather honouring the Lord's Day; and, if they can, resting then as Christians. But if any shall be found to be judaizers, let them be anathema from Christ.

They also changed the Bible sabbath to the pagan papal Sunday sabbath.

No such thing as asunday or saturday sabbath. Neither is biblical. God defined his sabbath as a moedim in Leviticus 23:1-3. Psalm 104:19 commands that the moon appoint the sabbath

What a missed opportunity this video is showing an incomplete picture. Constantine is the main reason Jesus is considered divine today. When voting on the issue of divinity or any new dogma for that matter, the bishops maintained that the only way they knew the Holy Spirit was speaking through them was to come to a unanimous decision. Well when it came to whether Jesus was just a human or more, there were a handful of bishops that would not budge and refused to vote for divinity. So Constantine, eager to consolidate his power in the waning days of the Sol Invictus cult and nearing the end to his own life, decided to basically rig the vote by throwing out the votes of the dissenting bishops and whammo, you suddenly have a unanimous vote to call Jesus divine. Soooo yeah, all that death....based on a rigged vote. I'm sensing a repeating pattern here... Also the formula for finding the date of Easter in any given year is this: Easter falls on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the spring equinox.

Paul wrote his letters about three hundred years before this council and always affirmed that if Jesus wasn’t devine then all christianity would be in vain. He and the rest of the New Testament writers affirm His divinity. But even in the Old Testament like the prophet Isaiah (7:14) writes that Jesus would be Emmanuel, God among us. But then again you’ll believe what ever you want to believe. Peace!

The Church, as a whole, absolutely and already believed in the divinity of Christ.

@@Sumermak No, Constantine wasn't wanting to "find" a way to join Christians. He was Emperor: he could do what he wanted, without regard for anyone else's feelings on the matter. He became a Christian because of a genuine mystical experience. The vast majority of Christianity follows some version of the Nicene Creed, thereby they are in agreement on the foundations of the faith.

We don't really have much about Arius. Rather, we have what his enemies were saying about him. Those who held different views were violently persecuted. Having said that, many still held to the views of Arius which were not only popular but seen by many to be closer to the orginal views of the first believers. Even Constantine later held Arian views. It was all Greek philosophy and politics. Very far removed from the teachings of Jesus and his first Jewish disciples.

Christianity today faces problems which are indicated rather than answered in the New Testament. Dogmas came to be es­tablished for just this reason, because of the constant demand for intellectual clari­fication. The question was: “What think ye of Christ?” But what good could come from the ‘clarifiers’ and establishers of dogma at the synod of Ephesus in 449 who, in fury, abandoned the discussion and went for each other with cudgels, until one party was defeated and accepted the ruling of the stronger party. The Church Assembly was terrorised by a crowd of fanatical monks, and brute force prevailed. That is why Leo the Great spoke of a “Synod of Robbers’. And there were other Synods during which the enraged Church Fathers threw copies of the Gospels at each others’ heads. The dispute concerning the status of Jesus Christ became particularly fierce when those Church Fathers who sided with Arius took a stand against the doc­trine of the Trinity, which was then being formulated. The dispute focused on an essential problem which the Church in those days had not yet clarified. While certain ecclesiastical authorities were at­tempting to establish the doctrine of the Trinity, Arius presented a different view: “The Father begat His only begotten Son many aeons ago, and through Him created the Aeons and the universe. The Son is begotten timelessly by the Father, made and created before the Aeons, not that he could exist before having existed, before having been begotten, but rather that it is He alone who was timelessly begotten be­fore all else.” (This is precisely the same spiritual teaching that we now receive through our divine messenger of truth.) Following this, Arius was branded as a heretic. Athanasius, his greatest antago­nist, was quite categorical in placing Christ on an equal footing with God, though this was not at that time a view generally accepted by the Church Fathers. The dispute concerning the Trinity be­came increasingly momentous. In his ‘Book of Heretics’, (Das Buch der Ketzer) the writer Walter Nigg has this to say: “Not only Bishops from different coun­tries but also the ordinary Christian people were deeply disturbed by this. Soon there was no single city or village in which ar­guments did not take place concerning the relationship between God and Christ. Families were bitterly divided, and there were many public scenes of violent up­roar. Christians fought each other in the streets on the issue of Christ’s divinity. They did not stop at injuring each other, and their monstrous behaviour brought Christianity into disrepute amongst the heathen, whose dramatists made fun of these events.” “The Emperor Constantine felt obliged to do something about this quarrel, and in order to resolve it he convened the Council of Nicea in June, 325. It was to be the Church’s first triumphant display - an event sure to impress those people who loved pageantry and liked to see Bishops in their finery.” “The false splendour”, Nigg continues, “soon faded on closer inspection. Even then, true Christianity was to be found with Anthony of Egypt in the dessert, and not with the well-dressed people in the king’s palace where the assembly was tak­ing place. There, braggarts pushed them­selves into the foreground, for at such meetings the participants would often scream at each other ferociously, not bothering to preserve their episcopal dig­nity. The Council Fathers were not con­cerned about mutual understanding, or the promotion of Christian brotherhood. Lacking understanding, many of the une­ducated bishops took to scheming, so much so that one eye-witness named that Council ‘The Synod of Perfect Fools’. Amongst the bishops, those who sympa­thised with Arius were in a minority, and when Constantine brought pressure to bear it was the central party, with its statement that Christ was to be seen as ‘One in essence with the Father’, that gained supremacy. Literal minded Christians should note that this statement does not originate in the Bible.” After this, Constantine exiled all bishops who were unwilling to give their assent to the new dogma. Commenting on this in his book “The Emperor Constantine and the Christian Church”, Edward Schwartz writes: “It was quite unheard of that a uni­versal article of faith should come into be­ing merely on the authority of the Emperor, who as a catechumen was not even admitted to the mystery of the Eucharist, and who had not the slightest right to take part in discussions concern­ing the most profound mysteries of the Faith. Yet not one Bishop dared to speak a word in opposition to this monstrous hap­pening.” The Council of Nicea gave assent to this dogma, not as a result of Christian delib­erations but through the force of imperial politics. It can hardly be called a sacred assembly. But since too small a majority had overpowered too large a minority, the resulting victory rested on a fragile foun­dation. Wishing to restore peace within the Church, Constantine sought reconcil­iation with the offended Arian bishops, even going so far as to recall Arius in or­der to recompense him for the injustice he had suffered. The Emperor gave Arius a gracious reception, but his command was not obeyed by Athanasius, the most pow­erful opponent of Arius, and the hoped-for reconciliation between these two did not take place. Not long afterwards Arianism was granted the status of a true doctrine; the opposition party was charged with heresy, and its leader, Athanasius, was ex­iled. However, before he could be officially installed Arius was poisoned by his oppo­nents, who openly rejoiced at what they had done. Even Bishop Athanasius stood by this deed, thus showing to what depths Christians had sunk in their doctrinal struggles. the final ratification of the Doctrine of the Trinity took place at the Synod of Constantinople in 553. In so far as we Christians think for our­selves and refuse to let ourselves be pre­vented from seeking the truth by a reliance upon dogmas thought up by human beings and argued about for centuries, we are following good advice: “Seek and you shall find!” We have found. But it often seems as though the world has to be put off with falsehood for a time because it is not yet ready for the truth. There is, nevertheless, a noticeable wave of interest in the religious quest, particularly amongst young people who are seeking truth and higher knowledge. There is plenty of proof that Jesus is the Son of God. Open your mind and heart to that fact. Read the first 5 book of the NT and ask yourself two very simple questions: 1. What changed to cowards who deserted Jesus on the night before He died? 2. If Jesus had NOT risen from the dead and the Apostles KNEW he had NOT, why would they be willing to die for a lie?

' and FAITH is the substance of things HOPED FOR.., the evidence of things NOT SEEN.' The mystery of Christ can only appreciated through FAITH. there is no proof, there are no facts; neither are such things required. this obsession with facts is a product of modernism. I would say the story of Arianism is allegorical of the Aryans becoming dispossessed of Christianity. You see Christianity was a British creation that was taken out to Rome in AD 37 by the British high King Caradoc. His grandson Linus was the first Christian Bishop and Britain was the first Christian country in the world. Christians were never persecuted in Britain like they were out east and there is a ton of folklore and myth connecting the holy family to Britain. Joseph of Arimathea is buried in Britain as is the soldier who is said to have speared Jesus. The Brits, including the Danes, Angles, Saxons and Jutes among others are the Khumry and from Qumran to the Jutland peninsula, anciently known as the Cimbric or Cimbrian peninsula, to Northumbria and Cumbria in the Brittonic old North, and Cambria in modern day Wales, these and others are the settlements of the Khumry and the Khumry are the descendants of Adam. However in AD 562 a comet broke up over Britain destroying about 90% of the population and leaving a trail of vitrified rock in its wake still detectable today. Sometime after this Christianity was acquired by the Roman Church who set about rewriting British and world histories to cover what they had done and introduced the concept of the trinity, based on the Hyksos Egyptian system I believe. Constantine was also a Brit, from York who had ambitions of Empire out East, or perhaps this history was fabricated by the Church also!

They took their Sabbath-keeping practice from the Quartodeciman ("14th") churches founded by the Apostle John across Asia Minor. This changed at the Synod of Whitby in 664 when King Oswy of Northumbria, England, was swayed by the clever arguments of wily Roman clerics to accept the new Roman "Easter" named after the pagan goddess Eostre/Eastre in place of remembering the Lord's death (as He instructed) on the Biblical date (not day of the week) of Passover on Nisan 14. The British Church turned Roman from this point with the so-called "Protestants" keeping Roman observances, such as the Mass of Christ ("Christ-Mass"), fasting on "Lent," and other such man-made traditions (which Yeshua warned make the Word of God of none-effect), and they have been keeping the Romish days without question ever since.

Ironic that this view has a very deep pagan Greek polytheistic origin. Prior to the The First Council of Nicaea, The "Aryan" view was the accepted view for hundreds of years. Oh and btw when Constantine decided to become baptized _(on his death bed because that way he believed he would not be held accountable for his many past sins);_ The Bishop who baptized him was Aryan. The original Christian founders were Jews and they repeatedly admonished future generations of the "last days" to "get out of Babylon (the great)" because we are *in* Babylon the great aka False teachings or the doctrines of men. Then move on to Easter and Sunday and Saturday, Hell Fire etc - just some of many pagan doctrines that Paul warned would creep into the Church. And tell me why was John's first vision regarding the degradation of the Church and it's teachings? Why would God judge the Church so harshly if innocent? Why are there page after page of denunciations regarding the state of the Church and teachings found w/i the words spoken by Elohim Himself then recorded by the likes of Isiah or Ezekiel or Daniel and again for this very hour or generation? There are 3 full pages side by side in Ezekiel alone of how poorly the average pastor and self proclaimed prophet would behave in this very hour and all the false teachings therein. The Trinity is the oldest pagan doctrine around, as old as Nimrod. And All the prophets in unison say that 90% of the pastors today will be teaching false doctrine. John echos this in his vision on the Isl of patmos. The church is corrupt. "The Reformation" did reform but failed to restore the simple purity of the redemptive message via the Christ through the prophets. Read the first 3 denunciations of the church. At the end of all three - _Elohim speaks in threes for emphasis_ - it states (in a nutshell) that the one who clearly sees the sins of the Church will be written in the book of life. Jesus first created and Beloved son of Elohim; our true Risen King currently Sits at the Right hand of Himself? Yeshua is the first created being "first son" within our reality as we understand it. Elohim then created all the angels. Yeshua/Jesus is the very seed of Creation Himself. (Read the first few chapters of Hebrews - use a good translation - then read the Septuagint - that is if you are brave enough to take the red pill.). He is the only angelic being able to create. All things (w/i our reality) are created by Him, through Him and for Him. He holds all the Adamic and Angelic DNA. There exist 12 distinct types; Jesus being the Archetype. This is exactly how Jesus was able to be born of the tribe of Judah when Mary was not. Yeshua used the living spirit and power of Elohim to create with Elohim's approval and authority. Jesus was full man/human when He walked the Earth thus in his success proved Satan's claims as false. He facilitated His father's life sustaining spirit to aid Him - to Heal others etc. He is the first fruit of many (to come). Peter, John, Paul were able to access Elohim's spirit as well with the same power later but not until after Jesus finished His commission. To quote Tozer in a nutshell "The Trinity; the greatest Mystery never contested"

Arianism is pagan. It is Neo-Platonic. Trinitarianism is the exact opposite of paganism.

How come the other 2 Abrahamic religion view Jesus as a human being while only Christian believe he's a God. Clearly he was born by natural course from Mary and how is this natural birth misinterpreted as the birth of son of God?

I thought that they threw the books of the Bible up in the air, and only the ones that floated were used in the Bible. There seems to be very little real proof of most of the things to do with religion, no matter what type of religion you want to look into to. That's where faith comes in.

I wonder how bishops could be defending the orhtodox view when the doctrine of the Trinity as we now have it was not formulated until after Nicea. The personhood of the Holy Spirit and the realtionship to God was not discussed. History is written by the winners.

Some truth, some truth misrepresented. As with most all discussion on this subject.

A universal God who created the universe and everything else in only six days but it took 'Him' forty days and forty nights to write 10 laws on two stone tablets and another man had to be there with 'Him' and fasted forty days and forty nights all along as well, and then 'He' took some four thousand years or so to write a book for humans to compiled, edited, translated, debated, and argued continually till nowadays with no solution, how impressive?

Do you know that the Church that was used for the council is destroyed in an earthquake? Years later the Christian Byzantine Empire rebuild it. And many more years later, destroyed again and during the Ottoman's Empire, the Muslim see the horrible state of the church and decided to raise it up, refurbish and redesign into a mosque, where it now stand in Turkey.

The only truth that matters.... Is the truth within... Jesus describes it as "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". Basically respect for respect. That's the truth that god himself placed in there according to the Bible. So... Treat with respect because God said so.
