🤨MARCH LAMBING IN MINNESOTA!!🤨🐑❄️

Ойын-сауық

We’re still lambing! Even though we got snow rain and all the yuck with lambing. They are doing alright. The older ones are exceptionally well! We’ve been feeding lots of hay to give them all dry places to lay down.

Hey Jordan!! Everything’s looking good!! When it does warm up, that grass is going to be unbelievable!! I hope you have some pre sheep soil samples because you are going to see GREAT improvements with those densities. WOW.

Yeah this area is pretty well peletized!! It’s not going to be as many pounds of density that I was running with the group of cattle last year but we can get there with some time! Have a good one Brett!

@@WholesomeFamilyFarms I’m not sure on the sheep but the goats have a higher nitrogen content in their dung . It should be WONDERFUL!!😀😀. Don’t work too hard.

@@addisonranch I believe ya there! Our pastures have definitely improved since we’ve been running the goats! We never work hard 😉

In my opinion you're building natural hardiness into the herd. Those that make it are gonna be some tough sheep

I do agree with ya there! It does make it harder on the pocket book for the first year though.

I like to unroll hay in an empty paddock then move my sheep in. I then unroll a bale in the adjacent paddock they came out of while it is empty. This way I can get through a gate by myself without having sheep or guard dogs get out and don't have the sheep under foot.

Hi Jordan, wow, that is a really large amount of Sheep. The lambs runnings with the adult Sheep after the Bales unwinding is cute footage but I'm surprised they don't get trampled. It is crazy to see the number of new lambs running around. It is bad timing with the weather. I remember some of your past videos the weather was so good and mild and now when you need better weather, it rains and snows. It seems like in the video you have a lot less Goats. Was it just a portion of the goats or is it just me? Your wife Michelle doesn't seem to be afraid of hard work, so it is good to see you working together. Hope the weather improves so all of those lambs have a fighting chance to succeed.

Hey Ben, we still have the same amount of goats! We think the same thing when we see them now compared to the sheep flock! We’re looking forward to kidding season too! Have a great day!

Sheep lambs are a lot tougher than goat kids in this kind of weather

Next year NOT lambing in march. It just complicates matters to a third degree. Very wise comment.

Suggestion. Greg Judy-type bale unroller. Effective. Cheap. Light. 4wheel motorcycle-towed. One-man-job. Whatever. Stay very well. God bless!

A question [ the sheep do ok in cold weather. But the goats ? Do you leave them outside? I have saanen goats . They hate the rain .and we had it minus 50 Celsius for 9 days this winter. I have sheds for the M but the doors open . I was so worried they would not survive. But they sure did ( inside most of the cold weather.

My goats are still outwintering. They have the woods to get out of the wind. As long as they have good windbreak with plenty to eat they’ll be alright. We’re wanting to breed for the good ones to handle our cold winters. If we can’t manage them that way we’re not interested in having them because they belong and the land and so many benefits come with them being able to be out there.

I could feed em a bale every 5 minutes and they’d do that lol. If it’s something new they’re after it!
