March 13-14, 2021 GREAT Cheyenne Blizzard Shuts Down Downtown! RECORD BREAKING Snow!

**NOT FOR BROADCAST**

brett@livestormsmedia.com
A major winter storm impacted the Cheyenne area over the course of the weekend of March 13 - 14. As the snow began on Saturday the 13th - things began to deteriorate very quickly. Snowfall rates approached 3+ inches per hour and shut down the major interstates around the area. Police officers directed traffic off of the interstate system as the plows had to be pulled from the roads and vehicles became stuck. Numerous tractor trailers were stranded in the heavy snow and drifts as the storm began to take a grip on the area overnight.
After daylight - the blizzard conditions began in full force with winds gusting over 50 mph. Numerous pedestrians were stranded along roadways and were working to dig out or had to be pulled out. Several snow mobiles were seen driving the roadways into town and even a snow boarder came into the picture.
The greater Cheyenne area broke a two day single storm snowfall record with over 26 inches and counting as of this video post. This will go down as one of the worst March snow events in history for the region.

Northern, snow bearing States, don't usually even take snow days. All the years I lived in Minnesota we only had 2 snow days. And, that was because nobody could go anywhere except by snow mobile or skis. Then I moved to Indiana, and got almost an entire semester off school because of snow days!

I’ve been hoping to be a trucker once i grow older and am able to get that job. There’d be nothing I’d love more than driving around the country all day and getting paid good ass money. And like you said, these people literally are the reason why we have what we have. If they weren’t here then we’d be having a hard life, so I guess it’s also for bragging rights and also doing the country a big service.

Came home from snow skiing and I was driving my 63 VW beetle. When I got home my street hadn't been plowed. Tried to drive through the deep snow to have the undercarriage lifted off the ground. The back wheels had no traction going backwards either. I put the bug in reverse and let the idle run as I got out and slowly pushing the bug in the tracks the vehicle made, do my best NOT to get run over by the door. As soon as I felt that I was free of the lifting snow. I got back in ok but had to drive my bug into the snow bank on the main road which had a large snowbank and leave her cold and walked home. As I'm walking home, I'm think about the drivers side of the bug could get wiped out and hoping that the plow would see her. Days later after the snowplows cleaned the street I walked back to my ride and she was covered in snow. Using my hands I cleared the dirty snow from her frame to open the door. Sitting down in the driver's seat I place the key in the ignition to see her lights glow but the starter motor won't go. The good thing about a VW was that, if you had to carry a battery home and walk the distance. A six volt battery is a bit lighter than a 12 volt battery. I charged up the battery got a ride back to my little black bug with yellow rims. Put the battery back under the back seat. Put the key in the ignition and back home we went.

These road crews are really busy , never seen so much snow , I don't think this is over yet , it is still coming down , climate change is going to change everything we were used to in the past , give these road crew personnel a pat on the back , and the first responders , have some hot coffee on hand to warm their souls , God bless them for their quick action , and stay safe everyone !

I survived many Colorado winters in a manual Honda Fit with all-seasons. For normal people, it's about knowing when to not drive. When weather like this hits it doesn't matter what you're driving.

@@thezirons I would think he'd put them on the drivers then....you make a valid point, but it's hard to accept that he doesn't know the function of the driver axles as opposed to the steering axles. I have seen and used that method when you're hooped and need to go straight rather than just pushing the front axle, which is probably sliding...it makes more sense.

@@R.U.1.2. for sure, chaining up the front and the trailer tires can be helpful especially descending mountain passes. I really think the guy didn’t have a clue though. I just rewatched and he also said he couldn’t put them on because he didn’t have rope?
