Marc Lamont Hill Speaks Out After CNN Fires Him for Pro-Palestine Speech at U.N.

democracynow.org - Less than a month after CNN fired Temple University professor Marc Lamont Hill for giving a speech at the United Nations supporting Palestinian rights, we speak with him about the international attention his comments have received, academic freedom and why he feels it’s more important than ever to speak out about Israeli human rights abuses. Marc Lamont Hill is a professor of media studies and urban education at Temple University. He is the author of several books, including “Nobody: Casualties of America’s War on the Vulnerable, from Ferguson to Flint and Beyond.” We also speak with Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Glenn Greenwald, whose recent piece is titled ”CNN Submits to Right-Wing Outrage Mob, Fires Marc Lamont Hill Due to His 'Offensive' Defense of Palestinians at the U.N.”

@@jake751 We know exactly what it means.... the complete destruction of Israel and substitution of that independent country with a country called Palestine. Because the expression leaves no room for any other interpretation or possibility. It means you desire the destruction of Israel and indirectly the people who are its citizens. The so called Palestinians do NOT accept under any circumstances the cohabitation of Palestinians in a country called Israel or the presence of Jews in that land. The fact that Marc Lamont claims that was not his intent is manipulation for someone so knowledgeable on this issue and the public positions of the Palestinians on this issue.

Perhaps you should find out who owns the media corporations. Right wing , conservative media and Trump have their own , run by those of the same ilk . You also have the Pro Palestine media espousing their views, but they are not the ones who built this country and the banking, media , and government in the USA. Fairly new immigrants to this country are just recently becoming involved in politics and public office. Jews were in the USA since the 1820's it is not by default that they own a lot of corporations. They did a lot to help build this country so shut up about the media . Palestinians they can get their own.

❤Mark Lemont Hill 👏🏿 Free speech! only when it does not challenge the norm or the popular ideas at that time. Their are some people that are the chosen ones you have to watch what you say. One can't disagree with an issue without any bias or picking one side over the other, you will be condemned. Fighting for one's rights used to be a good thing!
