I don’t think that there is anything that makes me more nostalgic than a skateboard video cerca 99-02

This is one of the best skate video parts ever made. The skating, the trick selection, the style, the editing, the music. Perfection.
Marc Johnson is the shit and so is built to spill.
This goes down in skate history, a chapter in the skate bible
Still to this day my favorite skater ever! I’ve watched his parts hundreds of times.

same here brother. I can't quite put my finger on why he's so skating is so good, it just has magic in it.
2:52 Sickest double flip ever.

i always thought this was a tripple flip for some reason lol its clearly just a double
I've said it before and I'll say it again: this is one of the best video parts of all time
Back in the day, this segment got everyone so hyped. Even though the young skaters and new cats are absolutel sick I hope the kids are spinning the classics still every once and a while.
That is hands down the best edited video part. Ty Evans is a wizard. You combine the skating (he is the textbook "pro-skateboarder") w/ the music (perfect song by BTS) and you get some real honest to god magic. That frontside noseslide ender is cinematography at its finest. His style..holy shit..I don't wanna kiss too much ass, but holy shit...... so smooth.
the front noseslide at the end. hello
His skating is timeless and way ahead of his time. Tech skating like this came into full effect later on but MJ made it happen when people were just looking at the basics more often than not. Forever classic.
Oh how i wanted to skate like him back then, late 90s to early 2000s were the years for me, Marc have many legendary video parts back then. This video really takes me back..
I remember I had this in VHS ( I was born in Europe in the middle of nowhere, it was so hard to get skate vids back them). I don't know how the hell I got Modus Operandi in my hands
Ahhh, the memories. Awesome song, This was one of my favorite scenes to watch before heading out for a good day of skating.

Still one of the best parts to get pumped to.
thank you for putting this up!! I miss these days, fuck growing up
absolutely amazing and nostalgic part.
Just turned 30 recently. Been on boards forever but Started seriously skating and getting into skate films at like 10 so officially watching this now saying been 20 yrs deep and I didn't love this part as a kid tho I thought it was alright, as I got older I was fell in love with this part. It's definitely in my top 10 now. Maybeee top 5
3:32 was my trey flip trick tip back in 2001 taught me everything I needed... A lil tip, back then u didn’t have trick tip vids u watched vids like this and feedback 10 times b4 and after skating everyday and skating was ten times better💯 I still love it and the progression is insane but it’s almost like old school rock, it was the best material you’ll witness and there will never be anything like it again.#FACTS
Marc Johnson is one of my favorite skateboarders of ALL TIME!! He's so smooth
How the fuck has 20 years gone by since this came out!
maravilloso obra audiovisual, gran patinador y artista dramaturgo impulsor del skateboarding en si...congratulations 4 ever...!!! gran rola además
WooW in 13.1.3024!! Thank you Marc. You was my Skater. Greetings from Slovakia. My name is Pete 42yeras
I remember recording the audio on this part and putting that shit on my Walkman. This motivated me to skate so much. I can still remember my first fs boardslide and this was playing in my ears whilst I did it. Such an important skater :)))

I always come back to this classic for a slow motion overdose
this part is still gnarly 17 years later.
That's awesome! Marc Johnson is a beast! True Skateboarding... YEAH!!

I’m so happy u have this posted.
This part makes me so happy. Not even gonna lie
Everything about this is perfect, from the skating, to the speech at the beginning, and the band all make it one great piece of artistic history. The full cab blew my fuckin mind. His kind of skating makes me feel more comfortable about my skating. I'd rather see this than a montage full of handrails.
That part got me into editing !!! So grateful
One of the things that i love about skating is that after doing it for ten years now, i can still find ways to make a new line or different variation to a trick or spot that i've skated for years. I remember that after about 2 years of skating I learned Inward heels but after an ankle injury months later I had lost the trick. A couple months ago I was playing skate and a kid did one but i hadn't done one for many years and now I'm trying to learn 'em again: Skating never gets old.
best skater alive!!!!!!!!! legend
this is the first video part i ever saw. it makes my body break out in goosebumps when i see it now, hear the music...
So many of these tricks are still current day bangers! marc was so ahead of his time
i was really hopin this would be on YT!!! this part brings me way back!
hes so correct, thats exactly why I still skate after 13 years, still perfecting the art
this part basically raised me.
marc johnson.....you the man
This video was the first time I saw Marc Johnson, Mike Carrol, and Brian Anderson. It became my favorite video of all time with Transmission 7.
he is one all time favorite skaterrrsssss i like the way he thinks about skateboarding he's from sakteboarding eliteee props to this video
skating perfection, everything is so clean
Got mad hype when this song started in Skater XL.
Still one of the sickest parts ever. That frontside nose slide slapppppsss
So happy.i started skating during this era

It's called "The Plan" by the band Built To Spill. You can find it on the album "Keep It Like A Secret"...really good.
The evolution of skateboarding is amazing.
Abount 99% of the time, Marc lands with one arm twisted behind him and one in front, and once you see it, you can NEVER unsee it!
When I was a freshman in high school this was everything
my favorite
I remember buying this on video tape and I was a bmxer amazing video
I like when banger "enders" were just chill ass bench/ledge tricks.
Sweet! The time when a nollie heel nosegrind was ender material. Something I finally can relate with. Not those insane tricks that are done nowadays. They're cool, but I can't relate to them. Hyped!
Oh shit i think i still have the VHS hahahahaha nice sesh!!!
word on getting a pair of those MJ's, those and the original es Koston's were fucking legend
decade ahead of his time
Excelente video
MJ ALL day baybay !!! Style is as smooth as peanut butter and velvet.
I must have watched Modus Operandi over 100 times when I was a teenager. All I can remember is this fuckin' part. All the guys on the tape were doing some amazing shit, especially Mike Caroll, but Marc Johnson is just so fuckin' cool. I'm gonna shave my head.
best pro model show ever.
this is the part that made me fall in love with skateboarding.
i love that video
First time seeing this classic part from MJ. That front noseslide at 4:06 is the best looking one I've ever seen!
one of the coolest things i own is a signed vhs of this video by Marc.
If your Marc Johnson you can make it reality. This dude was born amazing at skating. Always the man.
ive watched this 40,000 times
i always wanted the marc johnson emerica's. I had them once and missed them ever since.
Chingon video !!!
That is the most buttery frontside noseslide ever. So fuckin' smooth. Steez of the 00's
cream color shoes herman was talking about at 1:57
Gracias por la parte del vídeo bro
modus operandi and the reason are the greatest videos ever.
Hey, It's me Clif Koufman. For real!
i always loved the line at 1:28 .... its so buttery its crazy !
everything he said was so true. seems like such a chill dude
”Behold, now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation!"
companies got to understand... we want to buy the dvds, but we spend all the money on all the skate equipment that we usually can't. I have a few videos but those were just from birthdays. They put a lot of hard work into their videos so if you aren't going to buy the video, at least buy a board or pair of shoes or whatever from them.
Can't believe this video is 13 years old. WTF!! I still have the VHS tape. lol
@Randallthat1 i love how he made all his tricks look effortlessly in this video.
The best
really cool
They use to have a lot style back in those days
dang marc johnson so good..this part was better than his fully flared part!!
Dude's always been way ahead of his time. Search for "marc johnson maple seven steps to heaven" and check that part out, and keep in mind that video is from 96! Shit's gonna be 20 years old soon, and still looks fresh.
damn Marcs outlook on skating is like so... MJ-esque. HE's too dope
I had that video, when i was 18 years old, DAMN , what a fucking memories, now i'm 31, i cant skate because i broke my knee in barcelona. Jojojojojojo i hope turn to skate one day !
