This lushly beautiful concerto is played with sumptuous finesse and humor by one of the pianistic giants of our time.

This massive work is often misunderstood, and it takes a pianist of Hamelin's caliber to do it justice. Passages that some regard as overwrought and rambling, emerge as chromatic brilliance under his fingers. Wonderful to see him play it live after having his recording for so long.
