Located in Bodhgaya, Bihar, the prestigious land where Buddha attained enlightenment, the idea of this hotel was to generate a gentle and timeless architecture that reflects through shaded courtyards, arched verandahs, and gentle waterbodies with the Bodhi tree creating a fulcrum.
The interiors are inspired by the Vajradhatu Mandala, where the philosophical teachings of Buddhism are personified in the Dhyani Buddhas who express themselves through a mudra or gesture, a color, symbol, element, and a season.
Principal Architect Shimul Javeri Kadri, along with architects Vaishali Shankar and Roshni Kshirsagar explain the design journey of this hotel, which combines Buddhist ideologies with the history and culture of the city.

Please plant trees, many of those. This place needs shade. Otherwise, imagine walking on the sun-exposed stone/concrete/brick floors and open spaces.

Lord buddha got enlightenment under a tree and the crux is missing. If the architecture was thought to be landscape based. It would have done justice. Overall all the best for team and selection of the hotel group as they know what they asked for.

I have my roots in the state of Bihar and I must say that because of the minimalistic approach of these woke western-taught architects, the beauty of indian traditional architecture is bound to become extinct. Serenity and spirituality don't necessarily come from dullness which is all I could find in this video. Those other buildings in the vicinity look livelier than this probably 5-star overpriced hotel.

I stayed here for a day. Hotel ambience is great but, poorly trained staff and interior location defeats the purpose.
