Thanks for the excellent video. I am working on a Marantz 2230 with a very weak, almost faint, right channel problem. Left channel output is fine and all other functions as well. Any suggestions on what to check first, would be greatly appreciated. I have very basic electronics skills, mostly with early tube radios. Thanks again. I am moving on to watch the rest of your videos!

Hi, how did you decide to check the emitter resistors initially? Did you observe any signs of damage on them? I'm attempting to repair a Marantz 1030 amplifier. While one channel functions correctly, the other one produces only a humming sound. I've already inspected the left channel circuit for any obvious faults but couldn't find any. I've also noticed these white resistors. Until now, I was only aware that electrolytic capacitors are especially prone to failure over time.

I have an interesting question for you if you wouldn't mind helping me out. My Panasonic surround receiver died after 20+ yrs of service. I had everything from a 8 track to a blueray player looked up to it. To try to stay with that tradition I've found a Marantz SR4002 and a Harman Kardon AVR 254 surround receiver. I'm having the hardest time choosing between the two. Which would you choose please?
