Cristiano Ronaldo is more consistent too, so what? Football is different than in Maradona's time. In the 50's, 60's players seemed to be slow compared with this time, so what? Puskas, Di Stefano were geniuses too. The goals at 1:10, 1:50 and 3:33 shows his genius, he thought in a deeper way than Messi. 1:24 and 3:10 shows his better technique. In fact Maradona was much better than Messi, it's ridiculous even to compare Messi with him. Maradona was another level than anybody else including Pele... althought Pele was already another level too... Maradona was a greater genius, a much greater playmaker and leader, a midfielder and striker at the same time, and had better technique. By the way some other players were better or much better than Messi too.

Su Juve, il Real, Il Barca, il M.U., il Bayern e il PSG non sono d'accordissimo, nel senso che c'erano squadre forti ma erano 2-3 squadre come fossero state juve , real e chelsea di adesso....e poi c'era il napoli che ha vinto. Non disturberei il Barca e Bayern , perchè sono due squadre a cui nessuno poteva ambire allora e oggi. Il milan , la juve e l'inter erano tre squadre come juve, real e chelsea di ora. Poi le cose sono cambiate, e la più forte è diventata il milan. Però devo dire che il campionato italiano con il Napoli è molto difficile, se non quasi impossibile vincerlo.

Winning the Italian league at that time with Napoli against all those great teams and defenses was an amazing achievement, and winning the world cup with Argentina was another, i can't think of any other player who has that much effect on a football team.

Napoli was economically poor and did not receive enough attention from the Italian government!! I am agree but it’s so sad how it’s end after Italia 90. Seems whole country was out to get the maradona after he defeat italia at home in the world cup . As the recent documentary showed , is no coincidence all his problems seemed to come after Italia 90. I am hope they are still Appreciating this proper legend in Naples today , for he did a things which likely will never happen again for the club in today’s football which is all about $$$$$

Napoli was a 2nd division team before Maradona came along and he led them to multiple Serie A titles. We have never seen a better player before or after him. I just feel privileged to be alive to see this incredible player in his prime. Best ever with no doubt at all.

+Ingenius3 no the quality of football was fine and the serie a was the most prestigious league in the world. What it does speak to is the incredible talent and abilities of Maradona. If the quality of football was not so good, as u claim, then other players would have achieved what Maradona did but no other player ever did. Not back then not today. Take a look at some of the great players who were around back then, especially from Brazil, but none of them achieved what this great man did. Maradona would be as effective today as he was back then and that's a fact.

+tvittori Dude it's a team sport. If one man can take a shitty team and make it champions then it's a clear lack of quality in that time. I'm not saying Maradona wasn't great lol. But i really doubt he would be the player he was in our times. Look at Messi and Ronaldo, 2 fucking godly machines and they still sometimes can go missing from time to time because teams are way more tactical now ; better prepared physically, mentally, tactically and the players have huge paychecks. Don't forget how easy it is to see matches of the next opponent and study them, position by position , when they overlap , how the pass, the pressing they do. So yeah, Maradona was great but i really doubt he could achieve today what he achieved back then.

When I was 8, my dad showed me this video. At that time I was not interested in football or even considered watching it. But I fell in love with Maradona after watching it. He became my idol and the reason for my love towards the sport. I watched this video at least 3 times a day for months. Sad that now i am back watching this 7 years later and after his death.... RIP Legend.

I took a screenshot of his page and it was at 6.1 followers before he died, when he was announced he passed a week later and currently he's at 7 million followers now, and everyone pretending they've respected him since time, espically the younger generation. Legends only get missed when they pass away it's actually sad af
