They updated the blade of Jaina's lightsaber (Mara uses the same). The one that came with Jaina was too thin and can wobble a lot. The one with Mara Jade looks thicker.

Its crazy how the first Aphra and her droids went up in price.

Personally two of my most wanted of all time. I was so hype when Maul and Aayla recently came in. It's gonna be like triple that when these Legends show up. Pretty jelly rn Btw Luke I tend to watch your vids on phone or tablet typically while multi tasking

Great video! Very excited for Mara to arrive over the next few months. I'm pretty sure both of these figures are heavy re-use from the Jaina Solo figure which could benefit from an update, especially on the legs. At the same time, these publishing characters are all heavy re-use, and I'm just glad we're getting two pretty deep-cut characters.

Looking forward to Mara Jade, and awaiting your review of Bastilla Shan when you get her.

Interesting..... I'm opening mine today. I like the super abs articulation on Mara, she is a Jedi so you can put her on the flight stand in some flying through the air, flipping around, kind of Prequel Jedi scene ^^

I would love it if the ML team could get those ab joints on their female figures--definitely the one aspect keeping their female figures from really shining.

Its hard to tell, do both of these figures have the same torso mold? its strange they both have the marvel legends abs crunch

I'm pretty sure they both use the Jaina Solo buck, so should both have the ab crunch and ball joint in the torso.

I have to say that, even though I'm really excited to finally get a 6" Mara Jade I am a little disappointed. This is not comic accurate. She is supposed to be wearing a skin tight jump suit with knee pads. She should also have her lightsaber hilt with more of a lighter magenta blade. Hasbro just got cheap and lazy with the Mara Jade utilizing the same Jaina Solo sculpt. Mara Jade deserves better and should have been a brand new sculpt.

Can't wait to get both.

I've got both of these on order from Gamestop so who knows when I'll acually receive them. Even though I didn't read either of the comics, I could not pass these up. I think they both look good. Mara definately looks a little different than the promo shots - but it still looks fine. Thanks a bunch for sharing these, LL! 👍👍

Hello Luke thanks for sharing your thoughts on these new figures Mara Jade and Dr. Aphra. I was lucky to find an original red box one at my local GameStop. Mara's hair does look a little off, it didn't look like that in the promo shots, which is weird. Still looks pretty good though. I didn't order Dr. Aphra, but I did order Mara, and ended up cancelling her since she said she was probably going to arrive this month and I've already had too many preorders come in this month so I decided she had to go lol Keep up the great work, Landspeeder Luke!

Mara Jade is one of my favourite characters in the expanded universe, and i have to say i'm super disappointed in the sculpt. Everyone was looking forward to this one and this is the best Hasbro can do?

I'm the same but surprisingly pleased and lucky with buying the plastic free packaging. I'm actually fond of the star wars pogo on the toilet paper they wrap the figures in lol. I agonizingly of course passed on Aphra and her droids in the Disney store at the Florida mall way back. Just now scored the new release.

that plastic-free packaging makes even less sense on these book-style packaging.

Thanks for the review, you definately got a raw deal with your two figures, I didn't have Mara's hair glued so low on her forehead, and Dr. Aphra's left knee looks wonky on yours. See if Hasbro will replace them and take these jacked up figs, back. Btw, which Jedi Luke is that, you're displaying with them?

New light cruiser Luke

It would be cool to get an Aphra with her black and orange jacket. This is an alright look, but not one she had for very long. That being said, if you are making this look, it would've been nice for them to include the crystal of the eternal rur. I hope they make an inspector Tolvan at some point, though I doubt they will.

Do you think id be able to switch the arms and jacket from yavin luke ontobthe aphra figure to replace the trench coat?

The more articulation the better. These look great. If they could do pin-visible double jointed elbow and knees with bicep swivel they'd be even better. They should all have torso articulation like this. Bulky guys could have a ball joint at the waist.

I disagree with you on the double jointed knees and ab crumch, same with Jainna Solo, the mega "Spider-Man" pose ability - - they're all three COMIC BOOK figures 4 fuxake! LOL

is the face on aphra different? it looks different from my red box one. Edit: I just took a look at mine, as well as a video from a different youtuber. Looks like the face paint/sculpt is slightly different. The older one looks more middle eastern, whereas the new one looks more asian.

Really wish they would bring Mara into live action.

Shame these are mostly re-use because Legends/ comics characters are they figures I want the most…
