9:46 Median does not take into account the top 1%. It doesn’t even take into account the top 49% or bottom 49%. You’re thinking of the mean average, which takes into account everyone, but the median is literally just the one average person. The reason it’s higher than you’d expect is because it’s wealth, not salary, and salary accumulates. That wealth includes the value of the average person’s house and car

Almost agree, not fully, median takes into account all values but doesn't take the mean average. The median is just the middle value in a series of ordered values

@@larstimmer Ye, so if you change any of the other values to be higher or lower than they already are, relative to the median, such as by making the top 1% extortionately bigger, it has no effect on the median. So, you can say the median does not take into account those values

6:24 No, Brazil does not mean “trees that produce red-like ember”! Let me explain. When the Portuguese arrived, they found a tree that produced an ember-red dye, so they called the tree "pau-brasil", the word "brasil" comes from "brasa", which is "ember" in Portuguese. So, the true meaning of Brazil is “red like an ember”. And why is the country called Brazil? It's simple, Brazilwood was the main asset exploited by the Portuguese during the first years of exploration, these trees made a lot of profit for them. They cut these trees almost to extinction. So it was very important and that's why the country was named Brazil.

In front of the elementary school where I studied there were several of these trees, but they were planted.

8:47, I have lived in 30 states. And I will tell you, almost every one I've lived in is wrong. While I can see where they were going off of, there is just not always accurate. Maine was either based off of a shortening of "Mainland" (often called "the maine" in that time period) or the French province of Maine (it is contested) Michigan is the Algonquin word for "big water" though, there is the great lake, Lake Michigan. Idaho is "gem of the mountains" from a anglicization of a Lakota Sioux word meaning that. Illinois is "men" or "warrior" from the native Illini peoples. Kentucky comes either from the Iroquois word meaning "land of tomorrow" or another Iroquois word meaning "meadowland" Wyoming comes from the Lenni Lenape word meaning "end of plains" notably stemming from the name of the Wyoming Valley in Pennsylvania. I can go on but I get a character limit. But a simple Google search can really clear a lot of these up and I'm disappointed to say the least.

My guess for the UFO sitings map is the mixture of lots of open uncluttered sky and military secret sites/project testing. An uncluttered sky reveals a lot that city lights cover. N those areas specifically also have been used for a lot of military testing. So those areas having that really does make sense. Not culturally, but geographically. Can't speak to the cultual effects from that area since I'm from the Massachusetts. Tho Vermont, Bew Hampshire, and Maine have some pretty high numbers as well. They don't really have as many highly populated cities, so a lot more clear skies up there. I know when I tried to make a vid of the eclipse that happened a couple yrs ago, the cluttered sky meant I barely saw it before it was gone n had to watch a canadian video of it to really see it.

A lot of states are named after the Native Americans that lived there! Its nice to see what those names actually mean.

POV you accidentally click the "go to channel" button and click back and then it plays an ad and its un-skippable so you have to sit there like a lemon watching an advert for Surf Laundry Detergent and then it plays the video but it goes to the start and you forward it to where you were and then Jack says "and on that note we'll end the video here!". That just happened to me. yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

10:01 It's because they're all higher, (the areas that will still be above a 500 metre higher sea level, I don't know how else you might read that sentence :)). Thinking about it, it should actually be the other way around as they're closest to the flying thing to be able to identify it as it's up to 500 metres further away from everyone else :)

For that last map, it's light pollution. I live in Idaho and you can see a lot in the night sky here even just a few miles out of the mid size cities (at least by our standards). I used to live in Texas and you maybe can see the Orion and Ursa Major/Minor constellations if you're lucky, but that's it for the majority of Texas.

(0:15) As a person from Sweden, never had a dream about teeth falling out. I might have had it once and forgot about it, but you said you have it once a month. That's a huge difference. Still might be true for Sweden in general though.

6:01 South Africa is usually fighting with new zealand to be number 1! Sometimes another country like ireland or england sneaks in there too though

Another country like Ireland. But not actually Ireland. If it's winners of the rugby world cup, then the record is South Africa 4, New Zealand 3, Australia 2, England 1.
