Mapping IFC File Properties in Tekla Structures

Many times we're importing and converting IFC files from software products other than Tekla. Because of this, you will find that names of materials and shapes may not match the way we name them, and the conversion will fail to identify the shape or grade of a part.
In this video, we take a look at updating the mapping settings so that converted parts show up with the correct material grade the first time.

Dave thanks for this. The current project I'm working on in London has brick slips on the front of the precast. The bricks have many data fields but my client requires a specific 3. I was able to map them through the conversion and now the data populates on both the drawing lists and the part marks. Project is Kings Cross S5 if you have time to Google
dear friend, when I take ifc file into tekla, why do the bolts are disappeared, when I hide the reference model after converting to tekla native ?. please help me
Whenever I convert an IFC there is always a lot of cleanup to do with the workpoints. Beams are not always on the center of columns, bracing workpoints are not on the intersecting centerlines of members, etc.. I've written my own API to handle a lot of this cleanup, but are there any robust apps or methods you like to use for this? I'm sure everyone who's every worked with an exported Revit model has the same issues so I don't want to spend too much time on my API if someone else has already created a solution.

Unfortunately I don't know of a quick automated way to correct them. Just the extend tools and 'converge on point' macro in our environment.
If i convert the ifc model to tekla, i don't get the same lenghte of the components. WHY?

I can't find 'check' and 'catalog' in IFC conversion setting. My tekla is 2020.

Make sure you are up to date with the latest Service Release (SP9); if it still doesn't show I would reach out to your local support.

I do not have any experience with PDMS or access to it. The only thing I have is our help guide on the transfer between us and them: teklastructures.support.tekla.com/en/pdms
