She is bored. My cat does that. I have a bad back and I tied my cat Sophie's leash to the end of her fishing pole toy and toss it and she chases it and wrestles with it. I can sit on the couch and do this without wearing myself out. Maybe you should let them outside on your patio. Keep the leash on Maple though.

I think Maple must have been a bit confused about what she wanted to do. Don't worry, it's normal.

She needs more action. She wants to do something challenging. She is cleary underchallenged, because she is a very intelligent cat. Its hard to see. I feel very sorry for her. You don't fullfill your cats needs.

She's bored, cats get bored easily & need lots of stimulation. Sbe's asking you (very politely actually) to help her find someting fun & interesting to play with - let her go outside so she can smell the air & hear the sounds..?
