This has been the first real year where he 100% isn't earning that 11, before he was a point per game center with a winning faceoff %, lots of value in that, but this year he has been slower and produced a lot less. Sadly they're stuck with him for another year unless they can find some saps to eat that contract without retaining.

The list of injuries guys have played through in the past is crazy. Christ, Paul Kariya came back after getting absolutely destroyed by Scott Steven’s and scored. I’m sure his head felt great.

The lack of intensity and desperation in the first 2 periods is inexcusable. The Leafs fans booing showed more passion and emotion than any of the Leafs on the ice. Embarrassing.

@@sean2015false. I was at the game tonight and it was my first playoff game. The fans were INCREDIBLY loud during pregame all the way up until the third goal. We all watched it fall apart but have been a part of this script many times before… our team didn’t show up and beat themselves. Don’t blame it on the fans. We were optimistic but got the ending we knew we were due for.

Why blame Keefe, who happens to be one of the best coaches in the league. The real one to blame is the GM...he had all year to replace the antique defence and goaltending. How many defensemen do we have that is under 30 years of age. Most of our defense should be retired. For several years the leafs have gone after backup goalies...Freddie Anderson, Jack Campbell, and Ilya Samsonov. They were back up goalies for a reason. Primarily because all those teams had goalies better than the backups they gave us.

If he's one of the best, how come he can't get by the first round for 8 years, I realize they beat Tampa last year, but they were lucky, Tampa outplayed them. Leaving Robertson in over Dewar makes no sense to me. The only reason this guy is in the NHL is because if he's GIVEN the puck he could score. Who on the 4th line is going to get him the puck? That line with Dewar had some chemistry going and he's more suited for a 4th line role than Robertson. This was a poor coaching decision imo

Keefe is finished as coach and though Marner and his millions should be dealt in the summer, not sure if any team would want a player who is afraid of his own shadow in the playoffs. Tavares will stay no matter what he loves being Toronto's captain and will never waive his no move contract. Toronto will stay among the top teams during the regular season yet stagnant come playoff time. I've been a die hard Leafs fan since the days of Paul Henderson, I'll still be cheering instead of booing them, but for better playoff success, lots of changes need to be made.

Look no further than the shit coaching. Any half decent coach would be changing things up on the fly if they aren't working. He doesn't load his lines up when he needs to. He's stayed with the Domi, Bert, Matthews line even though it lost the luster it had when Mitch went down. Since the playoffs started. The coaching hasn't adjusted and the players are playing like they want to get traded.

There is almost 400 people in the Toronto area for each seat in the Arena. There are many outside of that area that will make the trip in to see a game. There are people who will travel long distances to see a game (especially a playoff one) There is a waiting list to become a season ticket holder.. There will always be someone to take the place of anyone who decides to boycott. I’ve been a fan for over 40 years. I’ve been to 4 games. One was a playoff game in 2002 and I paid $280 then, that was 22 years ago. I could get from my couch to a seat in the arena, without going outside because of the subway system attached to my building, in 15 to 20 minutes. Super easy and I’m a huge fan and I have money but I’ve only been to 4 games and I haven’t been to one in over 10 years. Ive wanted to see a collective empty arena protest but it will never happen.

In the playoffs you need an elite goalie.. not every goal is the goalies fault but our current goalies cannot fill the role we need. Every team that goes on a run has an elite starting goalie. Our blueline needs revamped too.

What's tough to point a finger on John? You know why you continue to lose. Because there's zero accountability and never enough urgency. The effort in the 3rd period was a slap in the face to the fans in the arena and in the square. You wait 2 periods to bring the compete you needed for the last 5 years? Take a discount on your next contracts if you really feel bad. The fans deserve better

Just poor performance from everyone, no urgency, no desperation from anyone. Sammy let in 2 muffins again, no shot he's coming back next year. Keefe not coaching, not changing anything up, PP1 still gets nothing done out there, doesn't pull the goalie until they're down by 3 already..... Him and Shanny need to be gone when this series ends on Tuesday.

I was at this game. They didn't play like they cared fans were out there paying $500-$2000 a ticket. We were all hype and cheering in the first, giving them all the energy we could. The second period was atrocious and we let them know how we felt about it. I hope the booing came through cause it was a pathetic performance.

This is the first year that I don’t feel sad at all, I just can’t stop smiling it’s a sick joke over and over. Matthews,Marner,Nylander,Tavares imagine what team we could build if you guys didn’t take all the money. The teams that win all of their stars take less.

When they interview these guys they exhibit just about as much passions as they do in the game….they’re pretending it’s no big deal…hopefully one time in the future they get a serious hockey player on the team

And then - "...no point in being frustrated unless its going to lead to work ethic." -Morgan Rielly And then - when asked how/why the team started flat, Keefe wasn't sure. While he definitively switched 'flat' to 'tight', he still wasn't sure why. He's coached this team for how long and he still doesn't know how or why his players are tight before big games? Fire. Everybody.

Why are we still interviewing these guys

Prior to this season, I stopped watching NHL for 2 seasons. What I found watching the first 4 leaf games was nothing in the teams play changed. They make the same plays, same tactics, and same mistakes. Why? It's clear as day after you step away for 2 years. The players changed, so that can't be it. Gm changed. Good start, but what's left. The idiot behind the bench who can't coach anything but an AHL team. The team has some caliber players. The issue is Keefe doesn't know how to manage them. Same dam, playbook. Wont change anything, and every team knows it. All Keefe does is change the line combination and cross his fingers, hoping the other team gets thrown off. The only ones thrown off are the leaf players. Keefe and Shanahan with the rest of backend NEED TO GO!!!!@

Tavares has sucked in every playoff. Time for him to go

All our super stars are embarrassing…. It’s so annoying to watch all the talent we have do nothing…. It’s all the guys making low money as far as the nhl goes that do all the work! This is the best team I’ve watched of the leafs on paper but the worst in actually playing…. The stress levels watching our team play is insane…. The amount of money I’ve spent or anyone else has spent to go see these fools make a joke of us and our money! Yeah I think the fan base is fed up….

I feel for keefe. he did not give away these contracts. the top players looked like they just did not care. clearly he has no say on who plays and who sits.

Marner is a baby I can’t stand his interviews…. All he does is cry and make excuses… all he wants to do is make it seem like the media is the problem nah it’s you kid….

Matthews got in a fight with Keefe, you can see them in the background arguing on the bench. This was immediately following the 3-0 goal when the Leafs were getting booed. Then they announced he's missing the 3rd period with "food poisoning" and will miss the 3rd period but my gut is that there is something more there

@@Supkem77 they were but it could also be that boston was getting tired. they played hard the first 2 and leafs couldnt match any type of intensity. this is why i stopped watching the leafs when they lost to NEW jersey when i was in gr 7. fast forward im 37 have watched the last 4 playoff runs and im starting to literally not give a fuck about this team again. what a shit show. prob why i only watch the playoffs. but i guess i should watch reg season and skip playoffs.

@@automatik6223 : do what I do, watch the highlights after the game on the internet. Sat behind the Leaf's bench for the 67 finals, so at least I've seen one cup. Will never see another. Haven't watched a full Leaf's game, either live or on TV since Gretzky killed us in LA.

Sheldon Keefe needs to go. No strategy, no structure, no accountability. Embarrassing.

I would be so upset to be a Leafs fan right now, not that the Leafs lost tonight, and are one loss away from being eliminated in the first round, again, for the last 5 of 6 appearances, but because of how little passion, urgency, and just straight up responsibility these players, and the coach, is showing during these interviews. No frustration? We all saw it, but apparently there was none. You didn't come out flat, despite getting only two shots in the first 10 minutes of play? You got to stick with it? Stick with what, the same no emotion, no urgency play that we have seen for 3 of the 4 games? Show some #$%@ng emotion.

Changes have to be made after this series. The leafs intensity and urgency was lacking this entire game. The home loss record should be questioned too. But I’ve said it many times this season Keefe has to go. If Treliving keeps him then this entire organization can go F””K themselves.
