Map Based Acceleration Enrichment (Part 1 of 2)

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This is how I have set up Acceleration Enrichment for my cars in the past. With the new release, I felt it time to switch over to MAP based AE on my 280z running Speeduino.
Please keep in mind, you only want to set up AE after you have a fully tuned VE table. Do not worry about AE until your table is in a good shape.

I'm running a mS on a twin turbo dodge stealth. It offers mixing MAP and TPS AE. I have bean running 50/50, would you recommend that or going 100% MAP pased AE? I've thought it would be eraser to tune one table and not two. Unfortunately (of course) I have it all torn apart this week (rebuilding the AC). But hoping to get it running well enough for a short road trip next week (probably tuning on the road).

I pinned your comment. I was trying not to get too deep into it, but after reading your comment, I do not want to lead anyone astray for those that have the same functionality to run a mix. If you read the data logs, TPS readings will always react faster than MAP readings, because of this, TPS is superior to MAP for reaction time. MAP covers more scenarios. especially on a Turbo set up. The BEST set up I have ever driven had a 60/40 split (60 TPS and 40 MAP) To be honest, this was the best set up as I spent the most time into the AE settings. This is how I went about the set up. I ran TPS only AE for a full drive. Tuned the TPS to my best ability. I then switched to MAP only AE and tuned that for two days worth of drives to work. After both had been tuned out to my best ability, I kicked on the setting to do a 50/50, a 40/60, and a 60/40. Even without looking at the data logs, I could tell the set up enjoyed the 60/40 over the other combos, but it might have been a bit of a placebo as the data logs only showed a minor preference. At that point I did a final test of 70/30, and compared the data logs to confirm that boos situations started to suffer. Anyway, Sorry for the novel, let me know if you have any follow up questions, I really appreciate you adding this question.

great video! have been also fighting with AE back in the days but eventually I moved to MAF setup (using maf load both for fuel and ignition) and it smoothed out everything even without having AE on.. it is almost as smooth as factory ECU. (I also added timed sequential injection and it also made some difference.. especially for low torque transitions)

Thanks for the vid. Perfect timing too as Im just starting to tune my VW (microsquirt) and was researching about MAP based AE. Im running 100% MAP (no TPS) as these drive by wire VW throttle bodies dont work well with Micro/MegaSquirt. Anyway, thanks for the informative and easy to understand video. I learned quite alot. You should set a threshold on your temp gauge so it goes red when you're around 200°.

Glad I could help out, I will have the 2nd part of the video out in the next few days I hope, I ended up having to make a few adjustments to make it all work. My cam required a TON more fuel off of idle, and then started to require a lot less at the as the RPM increased. Ya.... I have been working on the a dash mounted tablet the past few weeks. The gauge settings are now on my list to reconfigure...... oh the shame... lol

So I have a 4 cylinder turbo engine, (SR20DET), I heard you say that MAP based AE was better for turbo engines, I currently have it setup with Time Based AE, what advantages would there be in switching and setting up Map based AE?

Depends on the firmware and how they code it. Back when I had MS1, it only used ms. So I would need to do the conversion. If your firmware requires ms, just keep in mind if you swap injectors, or fuel type, you might want to have two tunes that you can switch between quickly.
