Meanwhile the govt will soon find those who did not flee will not be of much help. There is a motive for putin - a desire to steal the property of the next door neighbor has been frustrated. I would hope most russians recognize that is why he is sacrificing the lives of all those people - and refuse to partake.

The thing is, people that can AFFORD to fly out and live elsewhere aren't the target demographic. Conscription for wars, as with every other war in history, disproportionately draw from the working class and the poor. The people that does not have the means to leave from small towns many never heard of. Small towns that would be demographically devastated when those boys and men do not return.

Folk in Russia are just cottoning on to this being a general mobilisation as over time there will be no limit on numbers, with the credible current number being mobilised as being about a million currently, and other than ten or fifteen yrs in prison, no escape, unless one has $2,000 for a flight out of Russia. I wonder how many conscripts will die before the mothers fathers, wives and girlfriends of these conscripts turn on their leader, and revolt. Putins days are numbered, maybe a month, maybe a couple of years? Whaddyou think?
