Mantan Moreland and Ben Carter "Interrupted Talk" Routine
This is Mantan Moreland and Ben Carter's "Interrupted Talk" Routine from the movie "Dark Alibi" (1946). They also did it in the movie "Scarlet Clue." They had perfected it as a comedy routine, when they worked together in vaudeville. It was similar to and about as famous as Abbott and Costello's "who's on First Routine."

I had forgotten about those guys. They were awesome Mantan also did a routine with the late Nipsey Russell if I remember correctly.
