I can’t thank you enough for making these videos. When I got the 2nd edition two years ago I almost gave up on it because (to me, being very green to gaming) it was ALOT to learn. I’ve since came to your channel for several other board games because these tutorials are done so flawlessly!!! I’m happy to say that I completed my 2nd edition mansions of madness collection and when I made my KZread video on it without hesitation I had to link your video as I could never do as great a job as you’ve done! I have this game and I have watched a lot of reviews and how to (In Spanish) of this particular game and they all are super difficult to understand. Even tho english isn't my first language, this video was super easy to understand how to play it, so you guys earned a new subscriber.

Agree, this video helps me more than the iberic spanish ones. NOT to mention than anyway I want a try with the local guys on the game store with a tutoring.

I love seeing this on your channel. I have to agree with other comments that this is very nostalgic and it just feels right to have you go over the 2nd Edition.

It's been really fun for me to revisit this too, but in a new edition :)

My experience of mansions of madness : 1.) You set the stage, set the mood and setup the tiles 2.) You get involved in the plot and try to figure out the best strategy to complete the mission 3.) Monsters appear and you die

Yes it's a very hard game. But the app is not too strict so you can allow extra actions or gain more clue tokens if you want.

Yep just finished my first game and monsters showed up and I literally had no way to prevent them from killing one of my characters. Her worst ability was speed and if she tried to evade it used speed if she tried to attack it used speed and if she tried to attack it used speed. That just felt like bs honestly. No skill there just luck. The monster literally spawned on her with no warning and no way to prepare

Haha. I can see how that happens. Just played my first game last night. I got crazy lucky with all my combat rolls and beat the hell out of every cultist and monster with a 2x4. Good game!!

After comparing this video to the first Mansion Of Madness video you seem like a completely different chanel, keep up the amazing work!

Excellent video, this really helped a lot. Thank you, and please continue making learning videos with this format. This is probably the most helpful teaching video I've watched, and I have watched quite a few. I also love the way FFG did the Learn to play, and rules reference books in the 2nd edition of this game.

Yeah, it's like the very first video he ever did. Harvey was an amazing hero in that game, and had probably one of the best narrative stories out of any character in a board game they've run since I started watching the channel.

@Giles de Rals if not for that video, i probably wouldn't have subbed to the channel. It was a great start to a great channel. I would love to see a return to where it all began with a brand new version of that amazing game.

Great tutorial as always!! Its come full circle for you and the channel Rodney with the first episodes I watched being for the original Mansions of Madness and now the second edition haha. This has become a favourite of the group, we stream the app to a tv via laptop and it works great. Really creates a fun RPG like experience!

So sorry I never replied to you Rennacius - well, better later than never? First off, thanks for the kind words. I never did get around to an Eldritch Horror tutorial (so many games, so little time). Did you end up playing that expansion?

I am very glad to see both the actual release of the second edition, and you're How To Play video. Ever since stumbling upon your play through of the first edition last years, I've been excited to try the game for myself. However the complexity of the original, along with the Keeper player requirement, always kept my group from taking the plunge. The new edition is a wonderful direction for players like myself, and I hope that these changes won't prevent you from gaining as much enjoyment from this new edition as you did from the first.

Paul Simister Me too. Played two games and lost both miserably. The biggest problem of the game as I see it now is longevity. Replaying same scenarios is not that fun. Even though the game randomizes houses and things you can still guess what the outcome of some of your actions will be and that kind of ruins the excitement as it removes some of the unknown factor.

Thank you! Just got this game for my brother and didn't feel like opening the box for him, and now we can play straitght out of the box :D

Being the one in our gaming group that explain the rules and often play overlord in games such as Descent, Mansion of Madness, Imperial Assault or Mice and Mystics, i find your videos very helpful as i just toss players a link a week before gamenight. There will be two more in the near future, as already disclosed by the publisher. And as far as I remember they will be for free. But I'm sure they will also release some more as DLC (it's Fantasy Flight after all...)
