Manly P. Hall: Anger: Its Cause and Cure

Manly P. Hall recorded this lecture, "Anger: It's Cause and Cure - Overcoming the Most Useless of Human Emotions", on November 18, 1979, yet it is still just a valuable and relevant today. Listen to his comments on political divisions and see how that relates to our current time.
As is usually the case, Mr. Hall directs his advice to the individual his/herself - as being the one to grow and change and meet their own needs, instead of trying to change the world around us.
A poor quality version of this lecture has been on KZread on other channels for years, but we were able to access the original master tape to restore this lecture and provide the best possible listening experience. The CC transcript is from "Lecture Note No. 268", which Manly Hall himself proofed and approved, making slight changes from the audio that you hear..

I really don't think that. I think God does what He wills and guides whom He wills how He wills. There have been plenty of teachers and there will be plenty more.

Totally agree and it's really worth pointing out Mr. Hall's acceptance/integration of Zen Buddhism in his teachings, offering a more holistic approach to life. Eastern practices and concepts were pretty much considered taboo. making it a sensitive subject that could easily destroy one's reputation if not careful... which speaks volumes of Mr. Manly Hall's skills as an orator to have retained the attention and open minds of so many listeners. Seriously, I have not seen such an example in this era of time other than Mr. Martin "Farmer" Burns teachings in writing for his style of Catch Wrestling.... and even this was more or less in the setting of Martial Arts where he endorsed the incorporation of breathing techniques, meditation, and visualization exercises. Totally unheard of at the time. I'll be sure to check out Ms. Blavatsky's work. My take of God's will being worked through others as a conduit comes with the understanding that the vessel still has to be primed for that work, and such conditioning is only accomplished in individuals that have the drive and discipline that it takes to become such a medium. I believe natural ability and inclination are things that are present in most people that God works through but makes up less than what most expect.

This was a well timed video post for me. On the previous Friday (10/14/22), I got involved in a road rage situation when I should have just ignored the road rager. I was a bit stressed and running late, and I took his bait. We ended up together at a stop light. He was behind me and got out of his car to rush up on me. I got out before he could get too close, which surprised him. He was yelling at me about how he was going to ‘beat my ass’, etc. I threw a quick, hard right hook at his chin. Luckily, I only grazed him as he flinched backward. At that point his eyes got real wide as he realized that I had called his bully-bluff, so he turned around and went back to his car saying again that he was going to ‘kick my ass’. I told him that he was going the wrong way for that. Then we both drove off. Immediately following, I was shocked at my own behavior. It was a HUGE learning moment for me to be ever vigilant with my silly emotions, to not get involved in adversity with other humans, and to forgive/forget. It’s been bothering me ever since because I knew what I was doing was wrong and against everything that I've been striving for over the past few years. Ergo, it was the universe gifting me a teaching moment, which I have gratefully accepted. Never again! Failure is just another leaning opportunity! 🙂👍🏻

Apparently Neville Goddard was a lecturer in residence at the PRS, according to a quick search. So if that is true then they must've had worked together in some form not sure about an actual "collaboration" though. If you find anything else could you reply to this comment in the future? Ah but this one was spoken like a True Person of his times, where only Masculine Principles were Exalted. Anger is definitely not a useless emotion, or it would not have existed or brought about by Nature. That is one. And two, Nature itself displays Anger in so many ways, when it is abused a little too much, like volcanoes, hurricanes, tornadoes etc. So.... this one - not entirely accurate. Lot to learn from it still of course.
