The historic site of Conishead Priory, near Ulverston in Cumbria, has for many years been the home of the Manjushri Kadampa Buddhist Meditation Centre and its Temple For World Peace. The centre is open for the public to visit the historic house, the temple, the gardens, grounds and shore, the World Peace Cafe and the gift shop and bookstore. Classes, courses and meditation retreats are all available.
I first visited for an afternoon during 2013. On Sunday 9th March 2014 I visited again and took a camera. Having felt a great affinity for the history, atmosphere and present purpose of the site I wanted to make a film to share its story and hopefully encourage you to visit when you are next in Cumbria.
