There starting too, but I think it's council red tape and lack of understanding of the concept. Plus greedy landlords and the air b n b here in Australia. Old shacks never used are a money maker now. And everyone with an old hut, garage, shed are offering them up.

This was a great story .. love that these people put that much effort into creating a good place for others of like mind. It's difficult to buck the system .. in the cities .. so find a place in the country .. then you have much less to fret over!

What a completely amazing place and people! I wish we had this in Seattle.😢 So much respect and love for your vision, your realization of the dream, and the beautiful community you have built.

Nonresidential food forest surrounds would give people the space that a pocket village has. Fire pump proximity allows cars facing out from the central garden like a pocket village. Beyond that a food forest wedge with a shared zone 5 border path. Less permits if its not residential.

We also plant tress as much as we can to provide shade. But, yes, it does get warm. The Winters are mild.

I love seeing communities like this and the people are amazing...unfortunately I'm in a wheelchair and I'm a double amputee ( no legs) and I have never seen a tiny home set up or designed to accommodate someone like me....maybe one day someone will include us in this amazing life style.

Salute to the couple. This is an inspiration for me. I'll keep this inspiration for the future home and community of my children. That safety vault/tunnel or storm shelter is a plus especially that we have been hit hard by Typhoon Rai in 2021 and left our forests bare of leaves and enumerable number of fallen trees. It was so disheartening to see our part of Palawan with barren trees. That one unforgettable experience led me to search for typhoon resistant houses and other means of keeping safe in a ravaging storm.

Love this, and thank you for thinking about the storm shelters. It's a huge sense of security to not have to worry about that.❤🙏🍀⭐♥️

What a lovely village they have created! ✨️💖✨️ If that were my garden, I'd put up some posts, run connecting 2x4's at the top, then put shade cloth over it. That's what I do here in the high plains in Colorado, except I use cattle panels hooked over in one section.

How surprising, that watching American shows about people looking for a new home in a fairly large budget every time they complain about the proximity of neighbors, literally in every episode, it gives you food for thought, they seem as if they don't like people so much from the heart, while the community of the 'tiny house' movement emphasizes the advantages not only economically but also from proximity to people with whom they very often establish long-term friendships. And it's great that I would love to join them myself.

This is wonderful! I am looking into purchasing an RV because of my budget. I live in Fort Worth and cannot afford the rent anymore. I will be starting my tiny house life transition with an RV living stationary in an RV park nearer to my work to start with. Oh yes, living in a 5th wheel RV while it's storming in central Oklahoma is SCARY. A storm shelter is the most room in your home. PERIOD 😊

Question: Near the beginning you said the lot sizes were 10' x 30'. Shortly after one of the residents said her tiny house was 34' x 15'. How does that work?

We extended her pad with additional gravel. Her home is on the end of our community. We were able to accommodate her. The other 19 pads are all 10 x 30 ish.

The second woman with her daughter, does she pay for double lots?? Her home is larger than the lot size that they rent.

@@mollymcnown2490 Before that though she says the dimensions are 34*15 which = 510 sq ft. If you take out the patio & sub in the loft , the loft is HUGE. So I'd guess it's actually well over 510 sq. ft.
