Who loves Mango and Blueberry? Nicky and Peekaboo (me too!) Happy to say my baby is coming along fine.....his voice is coming back Amen....and he now flies out of the cage, lands on the floor like Mango and runs over to me.....won't get on me but it's close enough! Have a nice long weekend! Hugs to you all!

Hi, it’s been a long time. So happy that Peekaboo isback to normal! That must have been quite frightening and upsetting. Did you know we got a new baby budgie name Rainbow? His colors are amazing but is a handful. Keeps Mango & Blueberry in tip top shape with all that energy! Mango, Blueberry & Rainbow send their kisses to Peekaboo & Nicky. Thanks for watching! Have a great weekend too!

Thank you. I have two talking birds and sometimes they surprise us things with what they say and us hilarious. They can hear it once or twice and learn it. So one never knows what they are going to say. Blueberry talks as well but mostly in the evenings when it's dark and lights are dimmed down making it difficult to record. Blueberry talks on spurts here and there unlike Mango that is usually long winded. LOL

Mango & Blueberry send kisses to Bob!
So cute... I bought myself a budgie around Christmas it’s April 2nd as of today. He is still so very skittish.. doesn’t want anything to do with my hand (unless I’m holding millet) ... But yet he randomly just started talking up a storm. He says “I love you” “love you” “good boy” “kisses (and makes kissing noises) “hello” and “where’s my nana.” Lol! Is this odd? He doesn’t seem to want anything to do with being hand tamed, but loves to talk... my mom said maybe that’s just the way he is. Which is a shame.. I really do want to snuggle him
@teardropface

That’s unusual. Usually they will talk if they have the ability to plus a trust and bond with their owner(s) because they want to communicate ( talk) like the human. Were those the phrases you/mom/ family members taught him or did he came talking? Any videos of your bird talking?
@sarahladouceur5548
5 жыл бұрын
teardropface I say those things to him a lot. It’s just myself and my kids. He never came talking. He just randomly started up during this past week. I do have a video on my phone of him saying love you, good boy, I love you. 🤷🏻♀️ so random ..
@teardropface
5 жыл бұрын
Continue to talk to him and his vocabulary will grow. As far as the taming goes, I would continue to try to finger tame your bird. It’s beneficial to have a finger tamed bird if that’s the only thing you do. In case of an emergency, you I’ll have some control if he is finger tamed. Have lots of fun with your bird. When did he start talking like this ?
@teardropface
6 жыл бұрын
He was talking undetected a long time before we discovered him. It was hard to hear him at first since these birds have tiny voices , very low and weak when they are babies. The first recorded video of his words were around 23 weeks but he was talking awhile before we discovered it. Here’s the link to the first video of him talking back more than 5 1/2 years ago. Mango will be turning 6 years old in 6 days. The birthday celebration video will be out in two weekends. Please join us in this celebration by subscribing if you haven’t already. How sweet, maybe yours will say a word or two since he is trying to mimic. You know only 2 to 4 percent of budgies have the capability of talking and only in ideal environments. What’s up with the blue budgie’s cere?
@teardropface
6 жыл бұрын
Look at my profile pic. Blueberry was already 2 years when I got him. A year later, the cere started to change back and forth especially around moulting time. Some type of hormonal imbalance. Treated him as though it was a thyroid problem with iodine supplements in the past for 2 years an it seemed to reverted to blue in the beginning. Then the cere started to change color and texture. Since we got a new cage back in September, 2017, overnight, the crustiness completely disappeared. It seems like a “pecking order “ syndrome that was causing the cere color changes all these years (turning 7 years old this year). Pecking order affects the male budgie in an all male budgie flock. One is the dominant (alpha) while the other male isn’t and submissive causing an imbalance of testosterone hormones to keep the peace within the flock. The cere color is controlled by hormones. By the color and texture changing to look feminine, its the way the bird communicates to the alpha male that he isn’t a threat to him and is submissive to keep the peace within the flock. It’s a strange phenomenon and rare but happens to some male budgies. Over the years, many thought Blueberry was sick with thyroid problems, tumor or even testorone cancer. I am ruling it all out because if it were cancer, would my Blueberry still be here after 4 years when it all started? Blueberry eats, drinks, poops, plays very normally and I don’t worry about his cere color anymore. Gender wise, as long my Blueberry shows no signs of other illness, it really doesn’t matter if Blueberry is a male or female. If you would like to follow what was happeing with Blueberry’s cere, please look for videos in my playlist which I have documented and journalized all the color and texture changes throughout these 4 years. Subscribers get first notifications of my weekly uploads. Rainbow is our newest baby budgie. With a change in the flock dynamics with a new make budgie, Blueberry’s cere was again changing to more bluish in the beginning. Then as time went on, Rainbow being a very pushy and bossy baby, we will see some changes in Blueberry’s behavior to stand up to this baby. Come join us to watch the interactions of my budgies and the cere changes and the affects of the shift of dominance in the flock! Thanks for watching!

Really anyone give me advice of what can I do bcz I'm lost? I got quaker parrot and he seems doesn't like me so do I, and he just acting like a normal parrot (sitting on a shoulder, stepping up, giving kisses and as usually running away and scarred of everything) so just I wanted to ask what can I do with him if I don't really like him, but I trying to give him a chance but I can't bare that ugly screaming. And I wanted budgie instead of their nice chirping and singing but not sure what can I do or to sell him and buy a budgie or to buy a budgie as companion for him. And how quaker going with a budgies is they don't fight? any advice?
@teardropface
6 жыл бұрын
It's definitely very difficult to deal with the loud screaming. In my opinion, The longer you have the bird , the more emotional guilt you will have. It seems like the Quaker parrot isn't the right bird for you and there is nothing wrong with that. If you get a budgie and keep the Quaker they may not get aong. Especially with quakers, they are much larger in size and stronger and may do harm to the budgie. Even if they get along, the Quaker will sense you favor the budgie and will be jealous and the outcome will be negative too. I would sell the Quaker to someone who likes quakers and will give it the attention and love that it deserves. Then take your time in selecting another budgie.
@teardropface

I just confirmed that Quakers can be aggressive towards other birds.

Yeah I think I'll follow your advice. I did to fast decision by choosing quaker as a pet bird for myself. I decided to have him bcz of their evil behavior and how they talk but didn't research about their screaming. it's not like non stop screaming but once he start he won't stop even if I come close and talking to him
