It was Jayanti Janata express, when it was started in 1973. Stating from Mangalore ,to Delhi Via kerala TN ,AP Route . After Konkan line was established , the train was renamed in to Mangala Lakshadweep Superfast Express. The other train stared on the same date {1973} renamed in to Jayanti Janata express ,

This shows the discrimination towards the south indian states. Even more legendary trains like Tamil nadu exp and Grand Trunk express runs on old ICF coaches. Even the legendary Kerala Exp got the LHB recently. But most of the northern state trains have been LHBfied long back.

It is because of southern railway most of icf daily running trains in Kerala have very old coaches which starts to rust

During my time(2000-2004), this train( kor mangla lakshwadeep exp) was fastest train to cover H.Nizamuddin to Jhansi section in minimum time( after shatabdi, Rajdhani exp).
