Being a manga artist seems like a fun job and a great hobby you would enjoy to do as a job. But its pretty difficult as there are many more better artists out there than you especially as a beginner at your job with only a gist and skill of it. It is frustrating when you just can get the character right or make small point you feel like giving up.

It's fun, but it's also an extremely competitive business that has an intense schedule. I mean, it varies by manga artist, and when you prove yourself, you get more leeway (like Miura with Berserk being allowed huge spans of time off), but like if I recall correctly, Eiichiro Oda (of One Piece) only gets I think 2 hours of sleep a night and the rest is spent constantly working? if not 2, then 4 hours, but it's something insane like that.

From an illustrator with 30 years experience, let me preface one point he makes. He talks about how much ink to put on the nib. That document ink is very thick and its flow is slow. So you don't need to use the "breather hole," aka "Gravity well," or "vent." However, if your ink is runny/watery, you need to cover the nib until the gravity well is covered. Otherwise, you'll make one stroke and have to dip again, costing you valuable time. Also, what he didn't cover is preparation of the nib. Modern-day nibs may or may not have a protective coating. Vintage nibs do. You must remove this coating prior to use or the flow will fail. The easiest method is to dip the pen in ink and wipe it off, two to three times. You will know it is ready when the ink coats the pen like paint and does NOT bunch up into balls. Under NO circumstance should you use a match or lighter. Applying heat to the point ruins the temper of the metal. It will cause the point to break or corrode faster than intended.

I just run my nibs through a quick dip in acetone when fresh. I also rinse my nibs once with water and then with acetone after drying to both remove water and get rid of any of the "waterproof" ingredients in India ink.

I love most styles of art. But I think I love anime the most. It's a mix of realistic and cartoon. Which I love! My favourite anime are: Attack On Titan, The promised neverland, SerVamp, Soul eater, Seven deadly sins, Naruto, Bleach. And it's cool to compare the mangas to the shows and movies. And also.. I love these videos too!!
