did you realize this is only one of the few available manual manga lineart tutorial on KZread? In english i mean ofc. There are so many approaches and philosophies to line art that it’s easy to get lost. Speed, light, energy, heaviness... Having said that, this is a fascinating video. Fukuda-san has a ton of valuable insight and a very interesting origin story.

I relate to that too, i feel the inked drawings lack the dynamism from the sketch and i often end up disapointed, so the answer was working with speed and making rough sketches all along...

I love Fukuda-San, I love all the other mangakas you've had on here but Fukuda is probably the most open and friendly one so far
2:40 the way he swiftly moves his hand to ink is just 😩
I remember drawing with a pen in my art class. My teacher told me to start from the top and end at the bottom. However I drew a little bit of the head, then the hands, then some clothes, then some back ground, then returned to the head, and so on. Basically, it ended with me smearing a bit of the ink because it was still wet. haha. I had to hide it with some random crosshatching so that no one would notice. Really though, I love drawing with a pen. The sound it makes while it scratches the paper is too soothing!
"sou desu ne" is all i heard in this vid and im not mad about it. I really like Fukuda"s personality and the way he does his lineart and skecth. Will read his manga soon too !!

This channel is so amazing
Omg!!!! Fukuda-san's my favourite mangaka!!! Can't believe he's doing a video!!!thnx a lot Doki doki!!!
Props goes to this channel for having English subs and Manga content
The way the maru pen is "scratching" the paper is so satisfying!!
I learned a very important lesson in this video: When trying to replicate a manga-like style, “draw with energy” and add filled in black areas to give your work some life. I think I’m going to watch more of these to get a better understanding on how these pro manga artists work.
5:54 I wonder if the author of attack on titan feels like this. Probably not.
The talk about inking fast and having very rough drafts reminds me of Akiko Higashimura on Naoki Urasawa's Manben, If you've got the chance I'd highly recommend you watch it. Also Asano Inio's, Kengo Hanazawa's and Junji Ito's episodes, those are my favorites.
I am Brazilian and I love this channel, even understanding little what they say, I love your work so much! I've learned a lot from the mangaka tips and put some into practice! thanks for teaching me this bunch of stuff!

i had to watch twice once to read the subs and once to just focus on watching his pen work lmao
Nice to hear from a mangaka that isn't so serious all the time, seems like a genuinely fun person to hang out with
The person who did KZread's English captions: I'm somewhat of a professional
3:48 that was actually so profound lmao i gotta take this advice... i focus too much on my rough work
素敵な方がゲストにいらっしゃって、このチャンネルの今後がますます楽しみになりますね!
I had never heard of this manga before today. But the way it started has me completely invested in it now. Thanks for sharing the awesomeness!
I really like his drawing style. Thank you for introducing us to Fukuda-san!
I love these interviews. There's so many person specific techniques and so much passion for their craft. That's exactly why I love art so much.
This dude gives off some really nice vibes! Looking forward to future episodes. Awesome video!
Excited to see Fukuda-sensei in more videos! I like alot his personality!! Sounds like the type of guy that you would like to have a coffee with and talk for hours about manga and drawing!
My gosh he is so cool! I love how energetic he is and his art is amazing! I'll definitely keep an eye out for more videos
I like him! He’s very down to earth. He’s working not only as a pro but for one of the top 3 manga magazines that exist, right alongside giants like Rumiko Takahashi, Mitsuru Adachi, and Gosho Aoyama, but still has a very laid back vibe. Good for him.
Excited to have more artists on DDD. I was hoping he would talk more about how he decides where he wants his line weights, but it was a fun watch none the less.
Why does the result looks so good, clean and like a digital effect too???
Extremely insightful and fun to watch. The conversation was really awesome to listen to, and I'm excited to see more content + read your works!
This was very entertaining to watch, and at the same you learn something! Thank you for this, especially with the english subtitles.
Was taking notes while he was inking❤ Love the channel and the useful information!!

I love Fukuda-san's mangaka origin story. It's so inspirational!! Feels like it's never too late to pursue anything as long as you put your heart, mind, and soul into it! That said, I really wanna read "After the 5 Minutes" after watching this~ TwT
I want to be a great mangaka. And this video helps me a lot. Thank you! Now I need to practice and oneday publish in one place I hope
His comment about complete rough sketches stab me right on my wound 😂😂😂

So much inspiration! I am planning to be a mangaka, but manga or comics are not really popular here in my country. So I decided when I got a job and got enough money to go to japan, might as well first become an assistant to manga artist.

this dokidoki drawing guy is so cute! kawaii-desu!
your channel is really helpful. I struggle with lineart because of my generally shaky hands, but this video helped alot.

That toilet paper trick tho! I gave it a try, and have been using it ever since when I’m inking traditionally. It really works! It’s so nice to be able to ink without smudging. :)
