    it's not a myth it's a well known fact that was already known from the first time he was at united, only times i've seen him press is when they are losing and it's the dying embers of the game because he knows a chance isn't coming otherwise, that's it, other times he's more of a cosmetic presser if he's been told to press, he sort of runs at a player in a straight line, no bending his run to intercept a pass, no tackles or anything, but again, nothing new. It's what he does going forward that compensates for it.

    @@musicaddicted777 nah ever since the villarreal game he's been pressing quite a bit and had 24 pressures vs arsenal which was his most and other times none of the front 3 press because the tactics call for it plus defensively he does clear the ball quite a few times from corners and freekicks and there are times where he looks to intercept the ball and tackle the player, not very often but it does happen

    He won't have time to coach the team yet, obviously, but the basics like how close or loose he wants certain players to mark off the ball, what is the formation in the different phases of play, are we playing out or going long, what are the responsibilities of the wing backs in and out of possession, etc, etc, etc. That's stuff that every coach should be telling his players in the team talk before every game, which can dictate a lot of what you see on the pitch.... ....And I think that was simply missing under Ole. Now that we've finally got a proper coach that can communicate clearly the basic game plan to the players, they should at least all come out on Sunday, knowing what they're doing, and I think that will be immediately apparent. We might not be rotating positions and double pressing and all that Rangnick philosophy stuff, but we should at least look like we know what we're doing.

  • @ClihtYeastwood
    @ClihtYeastwood2 жыл бұрын

    Blondies spot on, not hoddle.. the other one. These players did not fear ole in a healthy sense of the word. This is why I was keen on Conte because you know he’d have given them an absolute spanking. Rangnick even better appointment because of his intellectualism. Players are more aware and intelligent in a societal sense these days, all the exposure they get from social media to many different things. Rangnick looks the perfect balance to endear himself to that, while still having the ‘fear factor’ so to speak.

    Listening to Hoddle you can tell he doesn't understand the pressing game. The best and only press for Ronaldo is high pressing so we recover the ball high and don't have to run the length of the pitch or half the pitch to have a shot at goal. Ask Henry to tell you how Pep convinced him to press. He loved it cos the game is played in the opponents half and only has to go to the half way line to help defensively.

    @@outlawsouljaa Who do you want him to picked with player injured? I’m saying he will drop players if they not performing. Ole didn’t pick the team against Arsenal. I’m only comparing Rangnick against Ole. I got no issue with that starting 11, if they don’t perform you get replace, simple as that. Dalot and Telles played well and it will keep Shaw and AWB on the bench. In the past Ole will continue to play the same players even if they are injure or in poor form.

If the task incorporates any kind of cognitive or creative aspect it will not work. What works is being a leader that your followers refuses to let down.
