The man the legend - Dan @therunningmanc! Haha , what a day! Firstly, I want to thank you personally for being there for me when times got tough 💪! This was a very hard race but spending 15+ miles with you made for light work! It was an absolute pleasure 🙏. I hope our paths cross again in the very near future as we definitely made it special 😀.

Got goosebumps watching this!! The atmosphere on the day was epic!!! Great video and also everything said is so true, it showed us what a real marathon experience is and not a shiny tictok or reel! It’s a rollercoaster of emotions and also not every marathon goes to plan, but the bond you guys have built with the experience will last a lifetime 🥰 Great to bump into you again, see you next year 😂

I've never had that sense of working with someone to get each other over the line. An now I know it's much more of a fantastic experience! Thanks so much for that mate! It really was a race that made me realise that's its not all about chasing times. It's the experience and the people that matter. If you can go and enjoy it you'll come away feeling very satisfied also. Yeah mate , you've got this. It will be hard but if you stick to the training you'll be great. Thank you very much, Alan! What a day! Meeting Dan on route really changed my mindset, as you can see from the vlog. We really helped each other over the line massively. I'll do a full recap vlog and explain further, but it shows how much community and support can really help you push through. The comparison was based on support and the route its self. I think even down to finishing were you start is epic. London doesn't even do that. Thanks again for watching mate. I really appreciate the support 🙏

Thanks so much, Liz 🙏. As always, your support is massively appreciated 👏. Yeah , you know it suddenly hit both of us that time didn't matter. What mattered is that we were there for each other. It really was something special. The endorphins, after this, really reflect those of a pb. Except you know you worked hard as part of a team to get there. It was fantastic 👏. Yeah me Davy and grant all travelled down together. I'll cover more in the recap vlog. Davy runs the fling a week on Sunday!

Thanks, mate! I really appreciate you checking it out. Haha, it's seems to get better the more marathons you do. I suppose it's how much you wreck your legs on the day 🤣. We ended up walking/running the last few miles, so it was damage limitation. All in all, though, it was a fantastic day out. I can imagine 🤣. I was very similar, trying to fly home after the London marathon. We had to use steps, up to the plane 🤣🤣

@@runningwithstephen One of the guys I coach had a similar experience. He'd trained excellently, paced perfectly as we'd discussed in his race strategy for the first half. And then he just didn't feel like he could get his breath properly, so had to slow down and take a few walking breaks. He'd had a cold so it was probably due to the remnants of that. But he learnt a huge amount and finished in a creditable time. As you know, you win or you learn, and some races turn out to be a training run 😁

@NERunner absolutely spot on Simon. Sometimes it's a huge learning curve ie. Training run like you mentioned. Sets you up for a better race the next time. Yeah sounds similar right enough as my hr was sky high at the start and I knew I had to bring it down to make the race sustainable. If I hadn't then I don't know If I'd even have finished.

@@runningwithstephen I'll be in London on Sunday (along with Louise) - my time at Edinburgh was less than 2 mins outside the GFA!!! It's taken me years to get in on the ballot, but the ballot went my way this time. I haven't had a good run of training so won't even see my PB in the distance - but a BQ may be possible 🤞
