Nice tour, and I get your point about 'taking the lane' on the pavement. Someone (can't remember who) suggested that when filming 'you were there first' and pedestrians have the choice to be in shot or not. Manchester does look a very thriving place, somehow a very 'grown-up' city. I have a dear friend who lives in MCR and works in the centre and I am overdue a visit to see her. Hopefully next year!

I think that when you 'take the lane' and position yourself at the centre, you have access to a wider view of the area you are filming and the viewer feels more like they are there, like they are the main protagonist of the film. Sometimes when I re-watch my videos, I feel uncomfortable when people stare at 'me'. As a viewer do you feel the same way or do you understand that it's an illusion?

@@citiesthroughmyeyes I don't see that when I'm viewing it, I suspect everyone feels they're being looked at more than others are - I'm certainly very conscious of people 'staring' at me when they mostly aren't (though re in some cases).

Really enjoy your videos. I'm also from Birmingham, and find Manchester has a more urbanised feel than my home city. I think this is down to less pedestrianisation, and less restriction on height of tall buildings, in Manchester? I personally prefer the aesthetic of Manchester for these reasons. Regarding other factors e.g. retail, eating out, entertainment etc, there probably isn't much difference between the two cities?

@@MadeInManny0161 Yes, Birmingham is a bigger city geographically, and has a bigger population than the city of Manchester. Greater Manchester feels more contiguous than the West Midlands though.

@Lee O'Reilly, I definitely noticed the tall buildings. I think I need to back and film without the talking to take in as much details on Manchester as possible. Overall, there is no much difference between Manchester & Bham... Actually! Manchester has some free city centre buses...

I understand your feeling.. once I ordered something from the US and it took 2 months to be delivered xD damn 2 months! I thought I was scammed or something but I've never got scammed on the internet yet.. they've always been delivered eventually even it takes a month or 2 months.. so don't worry about it too much I hope you sort it out! :D

You are very lucky that the item eventually turned up. During the 1st lockdown I received a delivery but I was at work so the driver left the package by my front door. It was some farmers market products (organic meat, eggs, oil, etc) all that good stuff. But guess what?! Someone walked by and took the (unsecured) bag. The only thing that was left were the eggs because the driver left them by the window and the thief didn't notice them...So there is a person in my area who lurks around looking for isolated, unattended, vulnerable parcels to steal. I need a camera! Anyways, Merry Xmas to that fuc*er who keeps stealing my stuff 🥂 I am officially their Santa Claus! 🤶

I live in the South of UK I used to write to a French Girl,in the late 80/90s She would often send me photos of her in Manchester I prefer it to London in so many ways I would rather go shopping in MCR It as some great music venues and bands The history and buildings are just amazing to view It isn't that far from Macclesfield or Stoke for a day out by train I don't bother filming anything when walking in a City, people will know your a tourist I just take a few 📸 Glad you enjoyed your visit/tour 👍
