I agree. It had been a while since I was so moved by a film. Great acting, script, and direction. I hope that it brings home the gold at the Oscars.

Casey Affleck's performance is the best of the decade imo. This is my favorite movie from that year. I was definitely ok with Moonlight winning though.

Good review! Nomination for sure but a best actor win for Affleck??? I wouldn't be upset if he won but I'm not sure if his was the best performance that I've seen this year. Michelle W. on the other hand was brilliant as usual. The forgiveness scene with her and Affleck was just heartbreaking. I wouldn't be surprised if she walked away with the Oscar for best supporting actress. Definitely one of the best films of the year!

I agree about Casey Affleck! I cannot and do not want to imagine anyone but him in that role. And the Oscar is his to lose. About Michelle Williams and her sad movies (I love her too).... have you seen "Dick"?? Hilarious! Great movie with Kirsten Dunst and Michelle Williams.

Great review man! I'll be seeing that movie on Friday! :) Also, my favorite movie of 2016 so far goes to Moonlight! It's one of the powerful and extraordinary films I've ever seen! I can't wait to see what Barry Jenkins's next film is! Moonlight earns an A+ for me.

I saw Manchester By The Sea on December 16th of last year, and it was my 2nd favorite movie of 2016. It was the most powerful and realistic film I've seen in 2016.

Casey absolutely deserves an oscar for this. Im gonna be very disapointed if they give it to james franco instead.

Got shut out at SAG. Disappointing. Wished it would have won all 4 noms.

I would love MBTS to win Best Picture at the Oscars, but is Hidden Figures the favorite now that it won SAG best ensemble?

Michelle's happy movies are not so good as the drama ones :)
