Meera, also look into adding capacitance in to systems with heavy loads from motors and compressors. They claim it save as much as 15% of usage. Even in three phase systems. Air conditioners and refrigeration tax the grid more than any other appliances especially in the summer. And if we can evolve fuel cell technology, we can really make a difference!

The reason why everyone has their windows open in the winter is cause they have radiators with heat output that the resident can not control putting out tons of heat. Turn that shit down a notch!

In the office buildings in which I worked when I was in the D.C. area, we were not allowed to adjust the temperature levels. The thermostats were even locked in boxes. I came up with an idea. The air/conditioning /heating systems only know what their sensors tell them. Trick the sensors and we get what we want. So when things became warm, I would place a cup of hot water normally used to make tea below the thermostat to trick the centralized heating/air conditioning system into thinking it was extremely hot in my sector and the computers would make what it thinks are the necessary adjustments.

You have to appreciate the scope of their work: Her team relieved the grid of 19 megaWatts by giving away LED bulbs. A quick Google search suggests a 15w LED can replace a 100w incandescent. 19 megaWatts divided by 15 Watts per LED equals 1,266,666 LEDs just given away in 1 year. That means they would have to replace 3,470 bulbs a day. Wow!

She apparently relieved 19 megawatts from the system, well the system uses over 40,000 megawatts per year so that is about 0.05% ... and she says that that is major?

great. copy ideas from great Indian prime minister Narendra Modi. Who already started this transformation from 2014 and eliminated almost more then 40 million tons of carbon emission already by just using LED and still 50% part is left to do and then it will eliminate almost double carbon emission.
