Why's everyone blaming him for "pain" & "stress" from online school? Firstly, it's not his fault schools used his program, & secondly, if it weren't for this, you'd have to use an even worse program. Schools can't just close down teaching for an entire year & if they stayed in person, you would've probably gotten COVID by now.

The main alternative is windows team which offers a bunch of other features such as advances file sharing, still zoom is very impressive

@@SeizureSalad schools give children under 13 emails and have them sign contacts on the end of years tests. I think they would be able to make a school discord account for them.

Without zoom, I wouldn't be able to survive my work and hit my quota last year. Very grateful to this company.

He had a vision, nobody believed him. Worst still he was repeatedly told by the likes of top VCs that "It can't be done". Well, it was a rocky start but his dad's words ring true years down the lane.."Work Hard, Stay Humble, And someday you'll be ok". His persistence touched millions of lives during the pandemic and it helped us all be ok

I hope this man gets some rest soon to be with his family the massive boom of zoom must of taken a toll on his family relationship especially on his kids.

Love this documentary! I happen to just click on this from my suggested videos but when I saw it was an almost 30 min video, I almost skipped it. But the more I watched the more I got hooked! This is definitely worth watching. Thanks for posting this! Never heard of Zoom not until the pandemic started and I’ve been using this service since March of last year 3 times a week. With Zoom, you get to talk to a handful of people without too many hassles, especially during the pandemic. At least for now...

Never realized this was the behind story of Zoom. He made wonderful thing for her Girlfriend, so even her Girlfriend is far away from him, he can just Zoom her face within that App he invented. What a romantic Guy. I felt sad for myself. (a single girl only love games and other art stuff for now since I don't have a BF. What's the feeling? LOL)

Those you mention were more geared for voice with video tacked on..zoom is video first philosophy ...see as WebEx before it.

For those asking, the reason he invented Zoom when there were other (already made) apps that he could use like Discord and Skype was probably because he and his girlfriend were in China and China bans most "western" apps. Apps like Discord and Skype probably existed but because he couldn't use them, he had to invent a whole new app that could be used in China. Also, it's because other apps already existed that Zoom wasn't well-known until COVID.

@@vitalis that is not true. even you installed VPN, Chinese might ban that web site, also the traffic won't be stable. sometimes you need to try different vendors. So inconvenience.

Zoom! A boom in the world of technology! What an important discovery.

UK calling! On a lesser degree I've been in similar situations to Eric. 'Pie in the sky & it will never work' are just two of the things was told. I never take NO for an answer. The community hereabouts would have lost much had I not been so stubborn and kept on fighting until my projects took off. I was once told if you have a dream you are three quarters to making it work.
