I feel so bad for that young man (neighbor, witness) . You can see he’s holding back tears . Breaks my heart what is happening in our cities. Kudos to the man walking his dog -SELF DEFENSE IS NOT A CRIME !!

I hope that the young man finds someone to talk to after witnessing what he saw. He looks visibly shocked and overwhelmed.

Yeah, why is the homeless guy in a quiet residential neighborhood and not in DTLA.

The real news is that the man was able to have CCW in Garden Grove California. KTLA should know that if you get a CCW you must have no criminal record and the difficulty of getting a CCW would likely mean this guy is nearly a saint in the eyes of the police.

My wife, not too long ago, went out for a bike ride. She went with my son but he went ahead. A guy from across the street made eye contact with my wife and yelled he was going to kill her. My wife took off on the bike as fast as she could. She has a concealed carry permit now. These people on drugs don't care about laws or people.

All of the taxes we pay keep rising and where is the help for not only our homeless population but for the tax paying citizens. I love California but we are allowing this to happen by voting for these politicians who are soft on crime. This killing is unfortunate, but was it avoidable? According to this news report the dog walker and the man was seen talking so we know the man didn't "try to attack" the dog walker as he was passing. The dog walker stopped for some other reason, (but not to protect himself). It looks more like the armed dog walker stopped and confronted the sitting man, which led to some action that the dog walker perceived to be an attempt at bodily harm. For example, the sitting man might have stood up, or he might have reached for an object. And now the dog walker feels this is the moment to draw his firearm and exert deadly force. No I wasn't there. Only the dog walker knows the whole story, and even he might be delusional or in denial about what happened, because he can't believe how much trouble he is in. The neighbor, who had a problem with the sitting man, called the police. The dog walker had the same option, but now this might cost him a lot of money in lawyer fees. and if he goes to prison behind this, he will be surrounded by lots of people he will be wishing he still had his concealed firearm to defend himself against. That sitting man was a human being. Maybe even capable of donating an organ to the dog walker if fate would have it. He took a life, and right now the dog walker is hoping like hell that the prosecutor determines that the sitting man's life don't matter.

CCW and Supreme Court FTW. Newsom for the L trying to restrict gun rights and 2A. Gun tax for law abiding citizens, the young person felt threatened enough to call police before the shooting. Arrest the criminals, stop punishing law abiding citizens and making everyone less safe by releasing criminals and taking away the death penalty.

The "witness" gave a good statement. The dog walker gave the attacker his final statement. This saves agony and money for the neighborhood and we shall all thank the man who defended himself. He might not sleep well after this shocking experience but his neighbors will

Why didn't or couldn't the shooter defend himself by physical force? Why did he shoot 3 times? Did he really need to protect or defend himself or was it just a feeling? Was ist just to make a point in an argument?

@@i.sodeikat8397 Clearly you have never been attacked. God bless you. This is KZread. There are hours of videos of people getting attacked by assailants who have been shot more than 3 times. You shoot until the threat is over.

Someone effed around and found out…

All you people saying the shooting was justified, were you there and saw what happened. No! A thorough investigation must be done before people start jumping to conclusions.

I need to know more. I live around the corner and walk that frontage access road every day. No problems. I've seen the shooter before, pushing that make-shift stroller. I have no idea what went down. But it is a nice, quiet neighborhood about 2 miles down from Disneyland. Occasionally there's some street people lingering, but not any trouble. In fact the worst offender on that frontage access road is a white guy in a big chevy truck who throws his beer cans and loose trash from his truck onto the tree-lined divider every day. Right in front of me at times. And he's not homeless. I'll take some of these street people over his kind, every day.

You don’t need a permit to protect your life.

I belive the guy, homeless people are getting out of control and aggressive.

Lesson learned is not to attack people.

They need to hand out awards.
