Because as someone who has followed Man United since 1985, I can assure you that Sir Alex Ferguson's early 90's to late 90's teams were not counterattacking teams. They were very good at counterattacking thanks to pacey wingers like Giggs, Sharpe and Kanchelskis and Peter Schemichel's long throws, but they were most definitely NOT teams that used to sit back, soak up pressure and then try and score within 4 or 5 passes. They were front foot, able to pass around the back 5, use the range of passing of CMs like Robson, Ince and Keane and patiently set up finishes for the likes of Hughes, McClair and Cantona (who was also a patient pass master himself).

They had been dominating games against the lower club unlike Ole's. He even adopted this method against Watford and West Ham
