Played some very beautiful football and scored wonderful goals, finished in 2nd place, reached the semis in the FA and Carabao Cup and got into the Europa League final. That season had everything except a trophy.

It's actually insane how many goals McTominay scored last season.

This was a really great season for us. All that was missing was that Europa league trophy 💔. Shoulda gotten a top class DM the following season instead of Ronaldo and Ole would still be here today

@@souhardyadatta1843 unless your saying the Ozil/Mourinho 4 2 3 1 counter-attack, and the BBC 4 3 3 Ancelotti La Decima, counter-attack, I'd say Mourinho's, Ozil 4 2 3 1, was better, and more fluid at counter-attacks, but I'd put Ole's 4 2 3 1, Bruno, Rashford, Cavani inspired counter-attack, ahead of Ancelotti BBC 4 3 3, counter-attack, even though, especially in the Bayern game, their counters were deadly, I'd still just put Ole's 2020 21 ahead

Bruno, Cavani, Rashford, Pogba, Greenwood, Shaw were absolutely phenominal during the 20-21 season. I know the formation 4-2-3-1 and the counterattacking style of play is not what fans want to watch but Ole knew that it suited us. That's why played like that and came 2nd. That's how Carlo Ancelotti also played with Real Madrid and won the Champions League. If we had gotten a top DM instead of Ronaldo and continued the 4-2-3-1 and counter attacking style of play, we would have finished top 4 this season for sure. But we got Ronaldo and tried to play 4-3-3 which doesnt suit us and got screwed this season under both Ole and Rangnick.

It wasnt 4-2-3-1. It was a 4-3-3 with a auxillary CB and that And the absence of signing for that Aux CB type of DM to replace Matic is what led to downfall of Ole.
