Djordje Bozovic I think you mean first parachute suit..... parachutes had already been imagined in the 15th century and the first successful parachute jump in 1783, this particular jump off the Eiffel Tower we see here was in 1912

For those who are curious about the man who jumped off the Eiffel tower- His name was Franz Reichelt. In this footage we are seeing him test his invention- the coat parachute by leaping from the Eiffel tower. He told others he would use a dummy, but he did it himself because he was so confident in his design. It did not work, and he was killed instantly.

At least the last plane did fly for a while. Was this the very first flying airplane? I heard about the man who tried to fly from the Eiffel Tower. His plan was to glide over the streets gently, but unfortunately the physics didn't agree to his plan.

All of these attempts at human or alternative propulsion flying machines were made by idiots in the 1920s and 1930s who thought they could fly without cracking open a book. Many years after the airplane had been developed, and they could have just gone out and purchased an airplane and taken flying lessons. No, not the first airplane.

Their sacrifice today's future. We respect your efforts. Thank you.

To be honest and fair, that one at 3:03 definitely did start to glide forward and slow descent. And what the hell is that contraption at 3:12!!!! It looks like a wheat thresher. That last one flew...until it didn't.

The last guy had to much lift and too little weight. That is why his plane did a unintentional 360 no-scope kill of the game

You'd think for some of these designs that don't really need an operator they'd have the wits to first try it out with some weights instead of an actual person.

Weights won't prove nothing, it will crash regardless. For example, put a weight on a hand glider and it will crash.
